This place is right in the middle of downtown Old Montreal! I loved that the most about this space.

This property was fantastic location for Old Montreal. The air conditioning was always on, which got quite cold in our room. We did have a little trouble with the door not opening to the room, via the electronic card, but these things did not dampen our trip. A terrific location that is for sure

The ”luxury room” was clean when I entered. But there was no toilet paper, and no room service during the whole stay: 5 days. The hotel looks a refurnished old office, doors and walls are like paper, you can listen steps, slamning doors, and noise all the time. Ventilation system is always on, so better come with earplugs. The best is the location.

Awesome 3 Day!

Everything was great close to everything nust a little steps away from.the main spots and restaurants, clean, but the shower door hardware is loose and coming off, its enough for my hubby and myself for a weekend getaway, no parking, parking is a block away ,2 nights for 48 canadian money, not bad

Consider this review with the cost of the stay. The cost was very economical; I had a room that looked clean the day I arrived. The rooms in the hotel are located in the basement. Some windows let daylight in to the sidewalk. I kept my curtains closed, so the room technically had no windows. There are no amenities in the building. The location is great. There is no daily cleaning, but you can request the staff for towels and cleaning to put the trash out. Overall in comparison with the price, the cleanliness was better than expected and if you are not planning to spend too much time in the room; you would be ok.

Great location

Rooms are in a basement, the room was pretty cold but the person at the front desk did fix the heating so that was very much appreciated and she offered to switch my room if it couldn’t be fixed. It just wasn’t the most comfortable stay but it’s great if you’re just in town a night or two and won’t be spending any time in the room other than to sleep because the location is great.

The room was in a basement, and anyone from the street could look into the room. The room was also kind of dirty, and it took a really long time for the shower to heat up. The walls are really thin so you can hear doors opening and closing, as well as conversations in the hallway. The staff were nice, but not super helpful. However, the location is great and the room is decorated relatively nicely.

The location is great. We had a great weekend walking around the old port. The property itself is a basement and was not super clean. Our bed sheets when we arrived had old makeup and hair but they were great and allowed us to switch rooms. For the price and location I would consider staying again but definitely feel Hygie needs to look at the cleanliness of the place.

It was like staying in a European business hotel. The room was in the basement with no windows. The way out was not clearly marked and I stumbled into some strangers’ occupied and unlocked room. There were no restaurants open nearby when I arrived late in the evening. Guests made a terrible racket all through the night, and even blocking the cracks around the door with cloth did not allow me to sleep. However, it was clean and safe with a comfortable bed.

Service was great but the room was definitely not sound proof as advertised. We could hear the staff welcoming other guests and in the morning we could clearly hear the showers. Would not recommend for those that have dust allergies. There was dust under the bed and when we plugged in the cord for the fridge (there is a mini fridge:)) we saw that area was definitely not cleaned for a while. The shower room was everything we wanted and overall the look of the room was very modern and nice.

Hygie Hotel was perfect for us, a couple attending Pouzza Fest who just needed a place nearby to sleep. As it is below ground, there was some drain back-up after a heavy rainfall but this didn't bother us (just good to know). The bedding smelled fresh but there were a few hairs. Overall the impression was a hotel that was trying to be artistic & stylish, but missing out on some details. We had considered the pod hostel beds (which are in the same space) and were hoping to have access to the hostel kitchen, but the "kitchen" we were directed to was really a locker space with only a small fridge & microwave, not even a sink for washing dishes. The staff were present when you needed them but not overly friendly or proactive (we had to ask for anything we needed, like the WiFi password and if we'd wanted a 2nd bath towel). The Old Pier area is nearby with plenty of restaurants, shops & activities. And Muru crepe cafe across the road is delicious and very cute, with cheerful service. We would stay here again under similar circumstances. But if I was spending more time in my hotel, I would choose a different place to stay.
