Lovely cottage on horse farm with petting zoo and trails

The cottage is new with privacy and land located between RIDGWAY and MONTROSE COLORADO
(11 miles to RIDGWAY 18 miles to MONTROSE). One hour to Telluride.
Located in Ouray county on the Uncompahgre plateau. so many activities within the area several Hot Springs in your Ray Ridgway has lots of activities music in the park. Of course you have the black Canyon Silverton and Telluride to explore…. so many local activities within the area several Hot Springs in ouray ….Ridgway has lots of activities music in the park, shopping, art district. Of course you have the black Canyon, Silverton, and Telluride, to explore as well. Beautiful sunsets, beautiful darkness to see the stars at night next to the Chimenea.
Roughly 500 square-foot studio with private bathroom …queen size bed … portable full-size Japanese futon mattress…. Portable crib/play pen….couch …table and chairs… Streaming TV …propane Vermont casting woodstove …outdoor grill….
Kitchen has two burner cooktop refrigerator coffee maker coffee tea water creamer all utensils….40 acres of hiking trails….. A horse farm along with a petting zoo …. goats chickens ducks a pet pig a pet turkey and pet geese

Dogs must be leashed at all times due to abundant wildlife and my horses. If your dogs are to be left unattended in the cabin they must be crated…. unfortunately, I needed to make this decision because just recently a Guest’s dog with separation anxiety broke through the window, gouged my antique door, chewed a comforter, scratched the floor, etc., etc., and busted out
Communication is important when bringing your dogs so that we can chat back-and-forth so my dogs aren’t out when your dogs are out

Wonderful getaway!

Diana is a wonderful hostess and her cottage is charming. The location is on the plateau near Ridgway & Montrose. It's secluded yet convenient. I heartily recommend it.

Great Spot!!

We had a great stay! The cabin was chic, cozy, clean and comfortable with everything we needed on hand. The location was beautiful and the goats were so cute and friendly! Diana was unobtrusive and yet great fun to talk to while she introduced us to her petting zoo critters! Recommend this spot for sure!

Loved this hidden gen

This was exactly what we were looking for. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Baby proof for my grandson. Diana was awesome. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely private cabin!

This is a lovely cabin on a beautiful private farm. Diana is very hospitable, friendly and easy to get ahold of. Loved petting her animals! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Great cabin, great location!

The perfect cabin when a quiet getaway is needed. I loved that it's off the beaten path and the petting zoo is a super cool extra. The owner is onsite and easily reachable if necessary. I can't recommend this place enough. Very easy and scenic drive to Ridgway and Ouray as well.

Montrose Cabin

Able to eat most our meals there & close to all the hiking & exploring we wanted to do. Quiet nights except coyotes howling in the distance. Diana was great to work with.

Perfect. Far away yet close enough.

The cottage was cozy, comfortable, and had all the essentials. We were far away from the crowds, yet close to everything. Ridgway in one direction and Montrose in the other. Nature Lover’s Dream

Charming cottage with stunning views

Cute cottage with awesome views of the San Juan Mountains—uncompahgre peak, Sneffels, etc. Eight horses, ducks, goats, a pig in the petting zoo. Host Diana was a delight to work with. We knew the location so brought food rather than drive into Montrose or Ridgway for meals. Hope to get back for a Fall leaf season visit in Ouray County.

Absolutely Gorgeous

Really enjoyed this part of Colorado. The property has gorgeously views. Stars galore at night!! It’s a little out of the way from places but I think that is part of the charm. Diane was only a text away. Friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay there again!!

Just a little peace and quiet

This was exactly what me and my girls needed. The cabin was exactly what you see. The cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway or just some good family time.. We roasted marshmallows and enjoyed the petting zoo. We will be going back and staying as long as we can! Diana is an amazing host! If you need anything or don't want to be bothered she is understanding.

Delightful in every way

Just the right enough out of the-way (don't think you want to dash back into town because you forgot dairy creamer). We went for the dark skies, and brought our telescope. Handy to Ridgway, Montrose, Ouray (and farther south should you want to mingle with well off). And then there is the Black Canyon. Head to the north rim. Cozy cottage and Diane is a great host.

Perfect Retreat

Small studio but very well updated. The door to the bathroom is a work of art. The petting zoo and working horse farm were amazing. Owner has such a passion for the animals and property. My daughter will talk about this property for years to come. She has already asked when we can go back.

Gorgeous and peaceful getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of days after camping, and it was the perfect end to our time in Colorado! Its location is great for visiting both Telluride and Silverton. We loved sitting on the porch with coffee and wine to watch the wildlife. Diana was a great host and made our stay fantastic. The only advice I have if you’re visiting is to get everything you need in town beforehand. There are no “quick trips” into town from this property, which is part of what made it such a peaceful and beautiful stay. We would definitely book this again. Highly recommend!

Views of the San Juans

The Cottage is beautifully appointed—curated decorating. It is clean and easy to access. It is on a rural road so that you won't see any other homes from the property. Only while driving will you see other properties. Some are quite large. As for Location, locales call it Log Hill; for the most spectacular view ever of the Rigway Valley and majestic San Juans, take the back road past Divide Ranch and Golf Club into Rigway. Also, if you're going to Telluride and you'd be crazy not to, take that back road rather than go back towards Montrose. Speaking of Montrose, since we were last here, the town has down a tremendous amount of sprucing up. As for the host, Diana, she is terrific. A very easy person to be around and helpful in answering questions. I would go back, next time I come back to the pretty mountain range in Colorado.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

AMAZING COTTAGE WITH THE PERFECT LOCATION! Diana was an amazing host to myself, my friend and my dog! Plenty of space with a real home feeling! Horses and many farm animals within steps from the front door. Felt as if at home - Diana provided everything in the cottage! She even went above and beyond and had fresh coffee creamer in the fridge ready for our morning coffee due to late arrival. She knows the entire area well and informed us with all the great local and touristy places to see during our time. Big regret we didnt spend more time on the ranch to enjoy the animals and cottage. Very peaceful and relaxing. Kept the windows open all night long for the wonderful fresh cool mountain air and the sound of crickets. Amazing star gazing sitting around the chiminea just outside the front door. The description doesnt do the cottage and ranch justice! Already planning on returning next June - I travel often and this was BEST LODGING EXPERIENCE EVER!

Perfectly wonderful

The cottage was probably even better than advertised. It was very private being on top of the mountain but we were able to easily get to Telluride, Ouray and Ridgeway. The host thought of absolutely everything to make our stay comfortable and convenient. Plenty of towels, toiletries, various condiments, coffee, tea.....just all the little things that you don't want to pack. Bed was very comfortable and furniture was as well. The cottage was adorable and immaculate. The decor was perfect for a mountain cottage. The setting was absolutely gorgeous. What really made the stay so perfect was the host. She was absolutely amazing! She communicated with me from the very beginning and was incredibly accommodating. She made absolutely sure that we had everything that we needed. We got to know her a little and realized that she has an absolute heart of gold. She has the petting zoo because she rescued all of these animals. She actually volunteered to take our dog out when we were going to be gone for a long evening. I cannot say enough good about the cottage and the host. I want to go back!!!! Paula B

Amazing family vacation destination - we will be back!

10yo review: Diana was really nice and she let us feed and pet the animals. The animals were really sweet, especially her dogs. The house was amazing and is great for a place you want to stay that is close to Ridgway and Ouray. Awesome place to stay! Parent review: Diana's farm was a highlight of our week in Ouray County. The house had everything we needed to cook light meals and rest comfortably between our hiking/driving/off-roading/swimming adventures. The kids were so excited to start and end the day by helping with the petting zoo and horses. The property is so quiet, and we used the trail to take short walks after dinner. On a clear night, the stars are breathtaking. While we only needed to ask a couple of questions bc everything was very well-prepared for us, Diana was easy to reach via text, and was prompt in her responses. We can't wait to come back!

Secluded mountain getaway

The property is quaint. It is very secluded and it takes 30 minutes to get to Rigeway. The property is clean and looks just like the photos. You can sleep with the windows open in summer and we would definitely recommend this property!
