"Firstly the owner couldn't find our booking. This would be fine, but he was just unhelpful in resolving this, and came across as rude and indifferent. He kept just saying "I haven't got any money from you" or "you should call the company you booked through" (like no you should). We kept asking for the Wi-Fi so we could try to resolve this and he just stood there, then took ages to get it. Once on Wi-Fi we got in touch with hotels.com who instantly resolved the issue by calling him, then the...

"From the moment we arrived at Jungle Eco Lodge & Safari, we were made to feel completely at home. Kumari and her husband, Neshanta, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They were incredibly kind and caring towards our children, making them feel so welcome from day one. "A beautiful resort situated on lake Dumbulla. Very peaceful and quiet with wildlife all around. The swimming pools were exceptional, clean and perfect temperature for the heat and humidity - we could stay in there all day! All the staff are super helpful, friendly and go above and beyond in anything that was asked. Being close to the Rock Fortress was great to be able to get there early before sunrise. Highly recommend staying here."

"Beautiful setting. I was a bit confused about advertised lake who is actually not on the property and holds little for guests. Pool area was wonderful very quiet with trees and birds. Heinz was most helpful in sugges outings and arranging driver. A few niggles: Breakfasts like all in Sri Lanka could use some tweaking with toast presented first to go cold and items not offered but available such as tomatoes or bacon: readily provided when requested. Spider life is rampant so staff could pay more...
