The perfect home to create your Island Traditions

This traditional Harkers Island home is the perfect place to unwind from the hurried world. Originally built in 1925, this water view home is in the middle of the quaint island known as Harkers Island. Even though this island is off the beaten path, it boasts some of best fishing and hunting around. You are minutes from the famous Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament that takes place in June and it is home to some of the world renowned decoy carvers which can be seen at the Decoy Festival the first weekend in December.
You can take a ferry to Cape Lookout seashore and go shelling or shop in the quaint shops of downtown Beaufort.
This home has 3 bedrooms, two baths and sleeps up to 8. If you have your own boat, there is a public boat ramp right up the road and covered parking at the house for your boat and car.
Known for it’s traditional ways, come immerse yourself in the island life and begin making your own Island Traditions.

Perfect Family Vacation For Your Family

This little get away on Harkers Island is perfect. The house is in a great location and is everything you need for a weekend away at the beach. The host and her husband are always available for any concerns or questions. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon.

Good times

Very nice place. Not modern but it was so comfortable and charming we would highly recommend for its appeal. Close to Harkers island ferry and museum. Short drives to Beaufort and Morehead city for some great food and waterfront scenery. Good Times!

Love Island Traditions!

Cute, comfortable VRBO. The host was thoughtful in her preparations and added touches to the rental that made the stay perfect. Location is great, parking and driveway quite sufficient.

Quiet and Relaxing Location

The property was clean, family friendly, and the perfect place to day trip to the beach, shopping, or sightseeing. Be sure and visit the Core Sound Museum to see the amazing heritage of Down East Rae was a great host!

Lovely, Cozy Stay

This location was exactly as described and just perfect for a short family stay. We loved being on the island and the proximity to the ferry, local beaches, and more. The house was cozy, beds were comfy, and we had a wonderful time. If you're looking for a luxury experience, you may not adore this home, but if you're looking for comfort and ease, this is the perfect place!

Perfect place for a quiet weekend

The place was even better than described! It was perfect for our little family of 4. The location was exactly what we needed. Five or so minutes to the ferry, 25 minutes to Beaufort for dinner and less than 40 min away from Fort Macon. We hope to be able to stay again.

Lovely Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the island traditions house. The hosts had thoughtfully left a basket of goodies that we all enjoyed. We loved sitting on the porch swing, grilling on the deck and spending family time together in a beautiful place! We also enjoyed the Harkers Island beach and collecfing sea shells. We would love to stay again!

Great time at the house in Harkers!

We had a great weekend. This house was a large space for four people. It had front and back porch which we loved and we were in very close proximity to the water. There were lots of amenities including a coffee/tea bar area with lots of selections.This cozy house was in good location was close to our boat slip. The fishing was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Great stay

Rae thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. It was nice to spread out in 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We spent a day at the nearby island to swim and see wild horses! Dollar General is a close walk to grab anything you need.

Introducing new Friends to the cape

This is the perfect little house to stay in if you want a quiet getaway with access to everything. 20 minutes to Beaufort, all the essentials on the island. This is t your typical beach vacation...perfect way to experience harkers island. Host is amazing and the house is better supplied and laid out than most other rentals.

Fantastic!

First time being in this area, and what a great location the house turned out to be. No matter where we went exploring, it was easy to get back to and convenient to everything we wanted to explore. Beds were comfortable and the AC was a welcome comfort from the heat of the day. Porch swing was nice for sitting in the cool air of the night. Would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and spacious

Very comfortable house, loads of space and lots of storage. We really loved the welcome basket filled with goodies! Plenty of towels, blankets, and essentials. The front bedrooms were extemely bright at night, so much so that we spent a good part of our second day shopping for sleep masks. The beds were very comfortable though and there was plenty of room in the closets and dressers. Some of the soap dispensers were almost empty, but there were so many other things provided that made up for it - shampoo, conditioner, bottles of water, etc. A lot of very welcoming touches that were much appreciated!sexond

Great Family Vacation

We had a great vacation, we went to many different places within 45 minutes of the house. NC Aquarium, Putt-Putt, multiple free museums, a few nature preserves, Harkers Island beach (recommended buckets and nets), Atlanta beach, stores, restaurants, seen dolphins and wild horses from Beaufort, rented side-by-sides and took the Ferry out of Davis to Cape Lookout (definitely put this on your list amazing 💙) and so much more. Loved we could do touristy things, enjoy nature and relaxing aswell. Great host with great communication 👏
