"Beautiful place to stay great views. We really enjoyed the weather there and the kids loved the house too. Only disappointment was that after booking ahead the night we were leaving to arrive the following day we were told there was no access to the dock or the kayaks. That were in the rental agreement and pictured. The steps to the docks were broken and rotted. There was no way to get to the water to fish or rather drop a line to feed the fish lol. The one accessible place was under the boat house and it was covered in logs and debris. We were disappointed in this as it’s the main reasons we stay at the lake. They did tell us we could cancel and get a refund the night before our stay. No time to plan differently and we thought we could still fish on the bank but it’s almost impossible to get to it. It’s a nice place and once they repair everything it will be a great vacation spot for anyone. "

"This was the BEST place that we have rented in North Carolina. The main reason for our trip was to hopefully find a new home in the surrounding areas. From the moment we arrived and went inside we knew this was truly going to be the perfect place to come home to each day. First let me say that the house is not lacking in any area. From having a great selection of dinnerware, cooking items such as pots and pans and frying pans and baking dishes, serving platters and bowls, dishware ,I can go on and on. Plenty of towels and bath items. The view from the expansive back deck is literally mind blowing whether you are sitting out there in the morning with your first cup of coffee and all of a sudden the sky starts dancing with magnificent colors from the sunrise or in the evening when the sun starts setting. The location of the house is only a few minutes away from the local food markets and stores and it’s only a short drive to downtown. This was the most enjoyable yet relaxed vacation we have had in a while. I have to say that we did accomplish our goal of finding a new home while we were there, and even though Castway Cottage isn’t that far away from our future home we plan on going back for a recharge kind of vacation when we need it. "There was no hot tub. The pool was ok but too much chlorine.we wanted a refund because of the cockroaches. We had to ask to switch rooms because we had to stomp on a cockroach as we walked in the room"
