DUTCH COUNTRY COTTAGE, pet friendly and very secluded!

Welcome to the Dutch Country Cottage. Situated on 9 wooded acres in beautiful Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, this early 1700's stone farmhouse has been beautifully restored and is nestled in the woods just outside Churchtown, PA. It was once the home of the foreman at the historic Poole Forge, this wonderful cottage is open for use year round.

Two bedrooms upstairs on the second floor, small bedroom is furnished with one queen bed. The large bedroom with two beds, one queen and one full size bed. Both rooms have access to one large bathroom which is complete with an old clawfoot bathtub like grandma used to have .
Cozy up next to the wood stove on a cool evening (firewood provided). Please note the maximum number of guests the cottage can accommodate is six.

This is an ideal romantic get-away for two, a fantastic retreat for four, or a great place for a family visiting Amish country. Set several hundred yards back from the road, you will have a beautiful view of the valley below from the edge of hundreds of acres of woodlands.

Make your own breakfast or order hot sticky buns from a Amish family down the road. Read a book on our wisteria covered patio overlooking a peaceful secluded backyard. Listen to the night sounds while sitting around the campfire.

Enjoy some of Lancaster's best family dining, or prepare a quiet meal in our unique kitchen. Option to Experience a home cooked meal with an Amish couple. Either way you choose, this will be the most relaxing time you can imagine.

Perfect getaway to disconnect and relax
I booked this amazing cottage in Amish country for a milestone birthday and holiday weekend. It was the perfect destination for a girl, her friend, and her dog. I almost don't want to say more as we want to keep this gem all to ourselves :)

Getaway
This was our third stay here and we had an amazing time. Our golden retriever loves it as much as we do. This is a great place that the owners obviously take pride in. We can't wait to come back again.

A little slice of heaven
This property was absolutely fantastic. I knew by the previous ratings it would be great and it did not disappoint. The exceptional welcome hospitality of baked goods, bread, chocolates, fresh milk, eggs and butter were outstanding. This property is absolutely beautiful and takes you back - literally centuries in American History. It is quiet, peaceful, relaxing and safely secluded. The home is incredibly clean, well-maintained and creates an environment like few other properties I have ever been too. It is well-stocked and the owners are incredibly welcoming- not providing tons of unnecessary rules where you feel like you cannot relax and enjoy the space. Truly one of the best VRBO properties I have ever stayed in- from Florida to California. Thank you- Mike & family from Ohio

Stone Cottage
I grew up in this area and still have family here. The stone cottage has lots of character. We were pleasantly surprised to find fresh milk, eggs, delicious homemade bread, jam and chocolate chip cookies waiting for us, such a kindness. The cottage is very private and sits on beautifully landscaped grounds. We were able to cook, watch up with family and create more memories! We all felt comfortable and relaxed and enjoyed nature all around us. We were grateful to be able to bring our beloved dogs Maddie and Angus with us who were happy and content. I would highly recommend this place and we definitely plan on coming back. Thanks so much for all your hospitality! E

Our Escape
This was our second trip to the Dutch Country Cottage and will not be our last. Everything is magnificent there! The attention to detail, the stocked kitchen, the stocked toilettries, the cookies, milk, eggs, butter and homemade bread; you could not ask for more. My husband’s favorite is the wood burning stove, mine is the bird feeder right out the kitchen window. Like the title says this is “our escape” and we love it.

We never got to stay at this property, but plan to do so in the future
We have been planning to stay at this property for months, but for various reasons we have had to cancel planned stays twice. David was very understanding and was kind enough to refund his share of our payment, making us all the more determined to stay here as soon as we get the chance.
