"There is nothing bad to say about this property other than the fact we only stayed one night. We chose it due to its location between our drive from Sicily to Naples. "Antonio and the entire staff are great. I had a very nice room and everything appeared to be new. Very clean and fully equipped. The view of the island of Cirella is spectacular, especially during sunset from the restaurant terrace. I sat there with my beer and just enjoyed the surroundings. My only suggestion is use softer pillows. I found them to be very hard. Loved the staff and breakfast and Calabrese hospitality. I would stay again!"

"What a lovely hotel with a ton of character! Located at the end of the 'beach strip', it was nice and quiet, with an amazing view of the town, the beach and the coastline. Our room was comfortable, and our view from the balcony was 10 out of 10. There was a mini-fridge in the room stocked with water, but for some reason, guests are not allowed to store their own food or drinks inside (penalty is 5 euros/day) - we found this strange? The staff were super friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was really good - and the eating area had floor to ceiling windows with views of the beach. The pool was nice, warm and clean. Great location, just a 10-minute walk to shopping and restaurants. On Monday morning, there is an open market in the city center that was a lot of fun to visit! Staying at Scalea was definitely one of the highlights of our Italy trip - it was beautiful, quiet, and resort-like. We really enjoyed staying at the Grand Hotel De Rose and hope to stay there again."
