Welcome to The Coop, your inviting, modern farmhouse getaway nestled just north of Stowe, Vermont in the mountains! As you pull up to this beautifully renovated 1810 farmhouse, situated on 24 acres of scenic land, you'll immediately feel at peace.
Located just over 10 minutes from Stowe Village and less than 10 minutes to Morrisville, you'll have easy access to all of the best that Vermont has to offer. Spend your day hiking, mountain biking, or skiing the east, and enjoying great local beer, wine, and food. The Coop is located on one of the most beautiful roads in the Lamoille Valley with unbeatable views of the mountains.
Step inside at The Coop into the entryway where you can kick off your coats and boots after a long day of adventuring. Here you'll find a well-equipped, brand new kitchen ready for your culinary adventures, complete with all the essentials and a few delightful surprises like a waffle maker, butter churner, and a s'mores kit. Gather around the stunning antique dining table and enjoy your meals while watching stunning sunsets over Mt. Mansfield (aka Stowe Mountain Resort).
When it's time to relax, head out to the brand new deck to soak up the sunshine and listen to the gentle sounds of the brook. And if you're in the mood for a picnic, we've got you covered with a ready-to-go picnic basket to enjoy some local cheeses by the pond or brook.
In the living room, unwind by the gas fireplace, spin some records on the record player, and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Upstairs, find comfortable accommodations with a queen bed in one room (fall asleep listening to the sounds of the brook) and two twins (or a king with our conversion kit) in the other. Bedrooms are equipped with cozy Casper mattresses and Brooklinen linens. For remote workers: one bedroom has a workspace and there is also a desk in the living room. A full bathroom on the first floor and a half bath upstairs next to the bedrooms ensure convenience for your stay.
While an 1810 farmhouse boasts its fair share of quirks, like slightly slanted floors and low ceilings in some places, it's all part of the charm of staying in a piece of history. This home was built in the early days of settling in this area – and in the same year that the merino wool trades came to Vermont. And with Stowe Village and Morrisville just a short drive away, you'll have easy access to local dining, shopping, and outdoor adventures.
End your days roasting marshmallows and stargazing around the firepit or enjoying a meal from the local farmer right next door.
Please note that there is also a small barn next door on our property that may be rented to other guests during your stay. While some of the outdoor spaces are shared, the farmhouse, deck, and fire pit is exclusively yours to enjoy. If you are interested in renting both homes together (accommodating 10 total), please send us a message.
Come experience the magic of Vermont at The Coop – we can't wait to welcome you! Notes: -Home is private and the land is yours to use. Note there is a barn also located on the property that is sometimes occupied by up to 6 other guests. We do not allow for parties and the spaces are separate. You can rent both together to sleep up to 10! -Keypad entry. We'll be here to help with recommendations via phone/text and have a local team available to help if needed during your stay. -The property is on a rural dirt road. During winter and early spring, they can get very muddy and potholes can be common. While all wheel/4WD is always great for VT, specifically during these times, we *highly* recommend 4WD vehicles. -The pond is beautiful and peaceful, but is not swimmable at this time. There are lots of local watering holes nearby, as well as Lake Elmore. -In rare cases of extreme weather, brief power outages can occur in Vermont. We provide instructions and an emergency kit, and are always available to support you if anything comes up during your stay. As these events are outside of our control, we’re not able to offer refunds for weather-related outages.
