The views from most of the windows are great, with a pier on the lake and deck surrounding much of the house.

Sweet spot on fabulous Long Pond, very accessible to Acadia

The house is well-maintained and a great spacious landing pad for exploration around MDI. A boat rental and launch just a few doors down offers paddle boards and a place to swim. We used those along with the home’s kayaks. Felt like it was the perfect thing to stay close to Bar Harbor but not in it, and being on Long Pond (much warmer water than Acadia’s ocean beaches) was a huge bonus. The full kitchen was very useful. Would love to stay here again.

Great location in nature on a lake with kayaks and a canoe. This is the best lake in the area.

I loved swimming in the lake every day and doing yoga on the dock at sunrise. The lake water was not cold. This is a quiet and serene location. The kayaking was peaceful and easy . This is the best location for it is on the quiet side near hiking trails and restaurants. Come here if you wish to avoid the crowded side of the island. Come here if you are a lover of nature, fish and ducks. Most evenings a musician could be heard from across the lake practicing the cello or a guitar. We heard a loon most every day.

Fantastic location on quiet side of MDI in classic, cozy Maine cabin

This classic Maine camp on quiet Ripple pond on MDI is a great location for exploring all that MDI and Acadia has to offer. The camp is well stocked with all the essentials. The open concept kitchen / living room is small but functional with a great fireplace in the living room. Bedrooms are comfortable though the bed in the primary bedroom is on the firm side. Outside deck is weathered but functional with a nice view through the trees of the pond below. The ‘split system’ in the main living area (heating/ cooling) would make this camp comfortable in both high season and off-season. Loved this comfortable, “family” camp.

Memorial week stay

We enjoyed the cabin, the furnishing were dated but in good condition. Kitchen appliances were good and serviceable. Beds were comfortable and the bedroom windows overlooked the pond for a beautiful view in the mornings. We enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect to enjoy the park.

Relaxing stay

Loved the stay. Having access to the water was a nice plus. Though the immediate shoreline wasn’t very swimmable due to lilly pads, but having kayaks allowed us to go to the swim area nearby. The living room furniture was a little dated, but it worked for our family of five. Proximity to restaurants and Acadia attractions was great, while feeling remote and private. Thanks for having us.

No curtains on 2 of the bedroom windows, shower curtain mold on bottom. Beds were small and need replaced. Windows hard to open because framing is in bad condition. Beautiful location!

Property is very dated. No blinds in two of the three bedrooms, and the beds are small but fairly comfortable. HVAC is a mini split in the kitchen area and doesn't extend into the bedrooms unless you leave the doors open. Cooking utensils and pots/pans were worn and due for replacement. The location is great, and for the price it was worth it to be close to everything in Bar Harbor/Acadia, but it was definitely a tradeoff in comfort while staying for location and price.

The location and scenery here are ideal. Great access to all parts of MDI and the lake was great to get to hang out on. Kayaks at the house were also a great perk. The house is accurately portrayed- nothing fancy, but totally sufficient. Everything you need for cooking. We were two adults and two kids and it was the right amount of space for us. Areas of improvement: I would recommend clearing out some of the extra stuff in closets/drawers- the bags of stuff in the closets are annoying and make it hard to store your own things for an extended period. The outdoor seating options could be improved- the picnic table is close to falling apart and not ideal for use. The house was mostly clean but could have used a deep wipe-down- cobwebs in the windows; random debris in the dresser drawers; walls/cabinets kitchen could have been wiped down; when we arrived there were bags of trash in the shed (which the property manager also helped address). Overall, a rustic house but great location to explore MDI with nice lake access.

Very nice location and kayaks were a great addition.

We loved the location, right on long pond. We loved the kayaks and used them several times. Area was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Areas of improvement would be the master room mattress, very firm. Woke up sore. The fridge took four days to cool food in fridge and freeze food in freezer. Furniture was outdated and couch needed cleaned. It had visible dog hair and I could not sit on due to skin allergy to dander. New pots and pans would be a great addition. Many were old. Overall we enjoyed our stay and those areas would not deter us from staying again, just wanted to give accurate review of our stay. We appreciate you sharing your house and allowing others to stay. It was a nice vacation and got to enjoy all Acadia and Bar Harbor had to offer. Canada was also accommodating with check out instructions that could not be met due to early departure. Thanks again we had an amazing time.

Vacationer beware… there are definitely no modern amenities here. Although the dock and kayaks were decent, the canoe had a hole in it. The house is basically falling apart. The kitchen sink sprays water to the ceiling like Old Faithful. The pillows were stained. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The couch and chair smelt bad and were covered with pink blankets with large holes and tears. One bedroom window would not close. We went through 2 air fresheners to try to get the musty moldy smell down to a tolerable level. Long Pond is amazing in the morning between 5:30 and 7:00am, but the dock is directly across from a public beach with lots of visitors. And unfortunately while we were there the house across the pond was hosting nightly outdoor parties, so no peace and quiet between 7am and 1am. Keep looking and avoid this old dilapidated house… there are much better options for the same price.
