From the warm welcome on arrival to our departure, the staff were exceptional, and the hotel was faultless throughout our stay. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the Sea Lounge and dined at Loya for both drinks and food, all of which were absolutely wonderful and delicious.

Fully recommend. Staff are incredible, polite. In such a busy city this is the perfect hotel to go back to and relax. The high tea is not as great as it is talked about - better off having dinner at some of the restaurants in the hotel. Will definitely come back.

Continues to have an amazing ambiance and outstanding staff in every area. The view of sunrise over gateway of India is magical. The whole pool area is gorgeous, with such a relaxed atmosphere even as it runs so efficiently. The charm of the Taj still stands out above other luxury hotels in Mumbai.

Not to sound overly gushy but this hotel was truly one of the best experiences I've had in years - I can certainly see how the Taj is one of the best hotel brands in the world. Right from Sahil's help at check in, getting us settled in, to the tireless housekeeping staff (beyond just a spotless room, they'd even polish my friend's reading glasses every day), to Abhishek taking care of us every morning at breakfast (including special breakfast treats!) and finally Adil's amazingly informative heritage walk. The Taj truly knows how to delight their guests and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Mumbai.

An outstanding experience for a four night stay. Right in the heart of the city, whereas Marine Drive hotels require time and transport. The staff at reception, housekeeping, dining are complete professionals who genuinely care about guests' experiences. Elegant rooms with many mirrors and, count 'em, 15 total light switches. Immaculate. Thoughtful touches. Prompt in room dining service. Breakfast in Shamiana restaurant beyond delicious with so much variety. But it is the people who make The Taj so memorable. This hotel is a sanctuary in crazy busy Mumbai. We recommend it highly.

Wonderful service with a wonderful view (if you choose the sea view rooms). Restaurants are all superb with special recognition to the japanese, chinese and indian restaurants. Stayed for two nights and the staff were amazing from the start to the end. We were pleasantly greeted and welcomed the moment our transportation dropped us off, to being looked after at the front desk on arrival. We arrived in the morning and were accommodated earlier than expected. We had a sea view room that looked over the gateway of India. Our housekeeper cleaned the room spotlessly ensuring we had everything we needed. We ate in Shamiana restaurant and the food and service were also good. Will certainly stay here again.
