    We’re so excited to share this special slice of heaven with you. Built from the ground up in 2022, Little Lake Effect is a true labor of love, thoughtfully designed to offer the authentic “cabin in the woods” experience—without sacrificing comfort.

    Nestled in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest and just minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, our cabin places you at the center of everything the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Whether you prefer slow mornings and peaceful days at the cabin or filling your schedule with adventure, your stay here is sure to be unforgettable.

    Paddle across the private lake using one of our two provided kayaks, sip your morning coffee on the porch while taking in the serene views, or unwind by a crackling bonfire beneath one of the biggest, star-filled skies the U.P. has to offer. Step right out the front door to access hundreds of UTV, ATV, and snowmobile trails, enjoy vibrant fall color tours without ever leaving the property, or set off on day trips to Munising, Marquette, Grand Marais, and beyond.

    While Little Lake Effect offers the peaceful seclusion of a true woodland retreat, you’ll enjoy all the comforts of home. The cabin features a fully stocked kitchen with standard appliances, washer and dryer, full bathroom, luxuriously comfortable bed linens and towels, WiFi, a smart TV, and everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The cabin was really clean and had everything you needed to cook, clean, and had a washer and dryer with supplies. The outside porch had two rocking chairs that we enjoyed sitting in with our drinks. We used the bbq grill to cook. They provide kayaks that my husband used in the water. He said that was the calmest waters he’s ever been on and loved it. The host was responsive right away when we asked her a question. It is deep in the Hiawatha Woods, so be sure you have all food you want and gas in your car. We loved our peaceful stay at the cabin.

Beautiful area. The cabin was perfect. It was very clean inside and out. Love the wood floors and loft. Comfy bed and pillows. Excellent WiFi connection. There were kayaks for us to enjoy a sunset on the pond. All the stuff you need in the kitchen. Grill and charcoal. Cozy fire pit. Our host was so thoughtful and responsive. Beautiful Weekend Getaway

This cabin was amazing. Everything we wanted and more. The outdoor access to the lake is amazing and so much fun to kayak on! The directions provided helped us with getting to the cabin easily. Can’t wait to stay here again on our next trip to Munising!

We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. It was very clean and owners thought of everything you might need. The views surrounding the cabin are breath taking. There is a lot of excursion surrounding the area. Overall it was an amazing experience and the cabin was everything and more!

Beautiful property right on a small lake. Easy check in/check out, amenities as described. Cute upper loft and nice fire pit. The internet wasn’t strong/consistent enough to work remotely, but it was fine for our needs. Very nice for a private option near Munising!

Tiny cabin getaway

My sister and I came to the UP to explore the outdoors. The cabin was immaculately clean. The host was responsive to our questions. Luckily, the March weather made it easy for us to see many of the beautiful spots in the area. Sitting on the porch at night watching the snow fall was a relaxing and perfect for our get away.

Peaceful Getaway

The owners of this property thought of everything! The cabin had all amenities and was thoughtfully appointed. The quiet setting and peaceful lake made for a relaxing getaway. We cannot recommend this property highly enough! It's 30-minutes from Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Plenty of natural beauty all around - we took a cruise of Pictured Rocks, and enjoyed hiking, Lake Superior, and waterfall viewings.

Relaxing and Comfortable

The cabin was beautiful and had great amenities. The bedding was very cozy and the lake access can't be beat, so peaceful! Loved the fire pit and good size front porch. It's located close to 3 other cabins through the same owners. There was a fan in each room along with the ceiling fan to help stay cool. Had to provide own firewood. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
