Horizon East Penthouse C - Three Bedroom, Three Bath Oceanfront Condo

Horizon East Penthouse C is a three-bedroom, three-bath oceanfront condo located 0.6 miles north of Garden City Pier. This ocean facing unit has a fully-equipped kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances including a microwave and dishwasher, and living room with private balcony overlooking the beach, washer, dryer, and central heat and air conditioning. Four TVs (three with cable, one 32-inch Smart TV) and Wi-Fi are also provided. Sleeping accommodations include one king, one queen, and two double-sized beds, plus a queen-sized sofa bed. Common area includes a swimming pool, gazebo, grills and two elevators. Limit two pool gate access passes and one parking pass per unit at check-in. No trailers. No golf carts. No pets. No smoking. Property permits off-season monthly rentals. Maximum occupancy: 9

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.

Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

Great place on the ocean

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was a great spot for our week at the beach. We loved two ocean view bedrooms- not many have that feature. The condo was updated and modern. The carpets in the bedrooms could use a cleaning and some general handyman fixes- burnt lights, broken drawers. Unfortunately when we arrived on a Sunday the realty company hadn’t left our key out so we had to call the emergency number to pick it up. Delayed our check in and was frustrating that we felt forgotten. John- emergency maintenance- was quick and super helpful though.

It's always spotless and extra towel and sheet sets are wrapped and are everywhere! The sheets are already on the bed as well which was really nice and the kitchen is fully stocked, there's even an air fryer if you need it! 10/10 would recommend! Our family of 6 fit comfortably and had plenty of space!

The view from the Penthouse and access to the beach was one of the best we have ever had in our many trips to various beaches in the US. The Penthouse was comfortable and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only frustrating thing was the parking. We knew going into our stay that there would only be one parking spot for the Penthouse even though it sleeps 9. However many evenings it was frustrating to park on the street a block or so away when there were plenty of extra spots available. The interior could use a bit of updating also. Overall we had a good stay and would return again.

Great Location, Amazing Patio, Perfect for 5 or more people

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Three bedrooms, each with their OWN bathroom, is an absolute treat at the beach. Two the bedrooms open up right to the patio (9 floors above the pool with a spectacular view of the beach) -- and the third, a set of twin beds in the back. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you could need, and having our own parking space was a much needed necessity. Only drawbacks were that the space it a little cluttered -- there are lots (and lots) of decorations on every surface. Made it hard to just find some space to put a laptop or a suitcase. Same with the balcony/deck (which is where you will spend a lot of your time since it is beautiful) -- but there are a dozen chairs and tables making it hard to move about. The location though makes up for all the clutter, just steps to the beach, and less then a 15 minute walk to the pier (with an arcade, ice cream shop, souvenir shop, etc)Would 100% stay again, and recommend to others as well.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our month in Penthouse C. Condo was very nice, however, there was too much decor “clutter”. Every surface had numerous items on them, so it was difficult to make space for even a glass or coffee mug next to the couch or chair. The closets were jam packed, with very few hangers. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. I did do quite a bit of cleaning. The stove top looks way better than when we arrived. The baseboards and moldings were very dirty. Gary, the on site manager was very helpful when our Wi-Fi went out, and also fixed a leak under the kitchen sink. Tim was also very helpful by dealing with Spectrum when they came to fix the Wi-Fi.

But the at the Horizon East, it clearly said we could have more, but Garden City realty said not so. That was not cool. The place was beautiful and very well equipped. WAY to much stuff sitting around thou, hardly a place to sit you phone on a table or night stand, very pretty stuff, but way to much of it.. Hardly any space in the closets to hand a shirt from so much stuff being in there, SOOOOOO many throw pillows for the beds and couches and chairs there was no place to put them all..BUT overall a great and secure place to stay..

This is not a penthouse! Please be forwarned very outdated

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: NO working outlets in any of the three bathrooms. Daily, all women had to dry and fix their hair using the mirror in the living room. This was very annoying and inconvenient. Unmade beds. I have NEVER had to put the sheets on my bed when staying in a hotel or condo. Previous renter's undergarments were found in a storage basket in one of the bedrooms. This was very appalling to my 12-year-old when she was trying to unpack her things. Empty water bottles behind the bed and in the drawers in another bedroom. These unsanitary gems were discovered by my sister as she was trying to make beds and unpack. ALL CLOSETS were so packed with stuff (cot, blankets, pillows, chair pads, totes, pack in play and even a Christmas tree) that we had no room for our things for the week. Underneath ALL bathroom and kitchen sinks were filled with just stuff. These things ranged from bathroom hardware to random knickknacks. In two of the bathrooms the shower faucets were moldy. There was a dirty old toilet brush in one of the bathrooms. The small ironing board was stained and dirty. Broken table in the living room. The floors were dirty. The first night as we were unpacking everyone was barefooted. The bottoms of our feet were black. This was the first and last time we went without shoes inside. Everything was just surface cleaned. I was lying in bed and went to turn off the lamp and saw an inch of dust on the lamp and lamp shade. There was a pile of dirty towels outside of our door from Saturday to Thursday. Pretty nasty to have to walk by this several times a day. There was not enough hot water for all of us to take a shower. Five out of the seven of us either had a lukewarm or cold shower every day after the beach. The offsite parking is ridiculous. It’s not even in walking distance to the condo! Every single night we would have to shuttle each other back and forth.

Not A Good Experience

The floors in the kitchen were sticky and refrigerator was not clean. We were not able to use the closets because all three closets were packed full already. I had to live out of my suitcase for a week. A picture over the bed in the master bedroom fell off the wall during our stay, and by the grace of God it did not fall on my mother who was staying in the Master Suite. The sofa in the living room is still very uncomfortable (I have stayed in this Penthouse before). The bedroom located along the hallway near the elevator needs new blinds or curtain, you can literally see people walking by. The cable TV also does not work in the bedroom located along the hallway. The balcony on this Penthouse is smaller than the other Penthouses, and the balcony was overcrowded with balcony furniture. Bathrooms in all rooms are in need of an update. My one positive experience was the convenience items that were in the room.

Penthouse ???

Reviewer Comments: Not what I expected from a Penthouse, the property was cluttered, no place to put your groceries, the kitchen cupboards were loaded with stuff, some of which should be discarded. One of the cabinets was loaded with someones food. The toaster oven doesn't work. The coating on some of the frying pans was coming off, how many people ate Teflon? There was hair in the bathtub and on the mattress pad. While there were some nice pieces of artwork, it covered everything, so you couldn't use some of the tables. Some of the furniture was old and in terrible shape, was it purchased at Goodwill or Habitat? The fan in the left front master bedroom was broken. The owners used 40 watt light bulbs, if you were a Vampire you would love the dark. The only nice thing was the ocean view, though the balcony had so much furniture you could only use part of it. We had to evacuate due to the hurricane, but did not receive a partial refund, will not rent from Garden City Realty again.

don't set exspectations too high

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: unit not what I expected.Best part of the condo was the view. Closets filled with owner's property and unusable for us to hang clothes. One bedroom had an unusable closet and no chest to put clothing. Only 1 roll of toilet paper per bath and only a small sample type bar of soap per bath. There were no luggage carts available and had to use grocery carts if you were lucky enough to find one. one parking place for a condo that sleeps over 6 people is ridiculous. The stair ways were blocked most of the day at check. It could have been a perfect stay if the agents or owner had supplied things that they would expect to have when renting a condo. Our experience in North Myrtle beach was 100% different from this experience.
