Tom's farmhouse nightmare
Please do not book this domestic share house, especially families with children. There are many things wrong and even creepy about Tom's farmhouse, the most important being this does not at all appear to be a safe place for kids. We had our young child with us and as soon as we learnt (on our arrival) we had to share common spaces with complete strangers, we felt extremely unsafe and that we had no option but to leave. As parents we had to ask are the other guests / household members safe to be around children? Do they all have current Victorian Working with Children checks?
It is NOT a holiday rental. The listing on Stayz was not fit for purpose. The one mention of a shared space was buried deep in the ad and was misleading. I would have never expected to be sharing a kitchen and living area with complete strangers. And for the price I was charge, it is reasonable to not to expect to not have to share. The advertising is false in that in reality it is shared house and not a private holiday rental home. We would never have booked if the owner had given a proper description of their domestic dwelling. The owner did not mention the dog that runs freely up to guests and as I mentioned in a post to the owner, my son and I have an allergy to dogs and again I would have never of booked if your listing had been much more clear. I have asked the owner for my money back. He has not done so, I am now making a formal complaint to Stayz.
