The Hemingway Carriage House - Romantic & Private Downtown Mystic Getaway

Freshly renovated, unique and extremely private studio in downtown Mystic, situated on a historic property with nearly an acre of land, one block from the Mystic River with river views. Four minute walk to beautiful downtown Mystic restaurants and attractions. The studio can accommodate up to four with a queen size bed and a fold out queen size couch. Ideally suited for a couple.

It features a private patio and sitting area, kitchen and dining area in a stand alone beautiful cottage.

*There are 10 stone stairs leading up to the cottage.

*We have Wheaten Terriers on the property in the main house.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

The Hemingway Retreat was exactly what we were looking for! It was cozy with all of the essential amenities, within walking distance so we didn't need to find parking, cozy, and the owners were so kind! We highly recommend this cottage and would love to return one day!

A great way to visit Mystic

I stayed here with my wife and 6 month old while visiting family for the Holidays. The place was very clean with nice amenities, had easy check in/access and perfect for our stay. Perfect Get Away

Caitlin and Chris’ place is cozy, tranquil and situated in beautiful area. You can easily walk into town or drive to other great locations such as Stonnington, Westerly and Newport. This was our third or fourth time staying with them and have never been disappointed. It is so nice to stay during the off season. We look forward to staying here in the spring. I highly recommend this place.

The guest house is a wonderful cozy cottage right in downtown Mystic. Clean, attractive and nicely appointed. The hosts couldn’t be nicer people. Very responsive and helpful. So friendly we hope to say “hi” to them next time we’re back in town. Like staying with good friends.

Perfect Place to Get Away

The sweetest little cottage tucked away from the busy shops! Hubby and I had a weekend of events to attend including a wedding and even though the space is studio style, we had enough room to spread out and get ready without tripping over each other. It's quiet and cozy, the perfect place to recharge!

The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. The location and quaintness of their listing was fantastic! I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this rental. Great weekend getaway for a couple

Very clean. No need to get in our car all weekend!! Second time staying here! Great place, has everything you need for a two person visit. One thing to note, for anyone who may have a sensitivity to smells, the plug in air fresheners can be very overwhelming and asthma triggering. Also, renters would benefit from a hook or two to hang a wet towel.

Husband and I stayed for the weekend. Amazing spot. So clean, cozy and cute. Felt like staying at a little beach cottage. The area is BEAUTIFUL. You can see the water from the property. It's quiet but also super close to all the best places to eat and fun little shops. We even walked to dinner at S&P Oyster one night. Close to many things. Only took us about 15 mins to get to Foxwoods Casino. Hosts were great and responsive. 10/10 would recommend.

Hemingway Retreat

We highly recommend Hemingway Retreat and we will definitely be staying here again. The cottage is clean, cosy, comfortable and has a nice ambiance. Caitlin has provided some snacks, sodas and water as well as a Keuring coffee maker and a variety of coffee. The property is quiet and is only a short walk to town, (sidewalks all of the way) which during the busy season alleviates trying to find parking. Walking at night felt very safe. From booking to check out, excellent experience. Fast communication with host. Very accommodating. The house was clean, neat, cozy, private and the location couldn't be better. We could walk to everything. Just by the water. Amazing in the mornings with the fog covering the water down the road. Fire pit at night. Pleasant surprise to find snacks and drinks in fridge. Can't recommend this amazing place enough. The host also recommended places to eat. Great great delicious food within walking distance. My girlfriend and I were beyond happy with the stay, just wished we didn't have to work the next day so we could stay longer.
