Really small room
The pictures are decieving. We thought we rented a small guesthouse but actually we had a very tiny room in the back of a building with a double bed. Luckily it was only 1 night because we could have stayed there a second night. We arrived in the evening and left in the morning. The room was clean, the bathroom tiny and the small bed was suprisingly comfortable.

The cabins were OK, but they were tiny. The cabin should really be for a single, and not a double. There was no place to put anything except one small table and one chair. What I didn't expect was the requirement to remove my shoes to eat breakfast. While I do that frequently when I'm at a friend's or relative's house, I would never do it while at a place of business, especially a place where many guests pass through. I was asked to remove my shoes and wear clogs that others had worn without cleaning. I refused, so I left and bought breakfast elsewhere. While the woman did recant after I told her this requirement was never explained anywhere prior to arrival, I was uncomfortable at that point and just left.

The Lake view cottage was very cozy and had a beautiful view of Lake Myvatn. The host Kata was really nice and accomodating. She helped us immediately when we were short a towel/sheet set after hours. The Lake view photos are accurate. What the cottage might have lacked in size it gained in view and location. Breakfast was wonderful! We loved the smoked salmon and freshly squeezed orange juice.There was no grill at our cottage (#4) but there was one in the common area - we did not cook. The washer/dryer was sufficient for our needs. We would definitely stay again!

Good location.
Location was perfect. Less light pollution than some areas which meant we could see the Aurora. It would be good if external lights could be turned off earlier. Room was very basic, but clean. The room was small. The room was warm. The shower pressure and warmth were good. The room walls are very thin, so you can hear people in the rooms next door.

Perfect location for aurora and night sky viewing! The property is right on Lake Myvatn and looks out in the northwest direction. No light pollution. We had our first northern light sighting here after the early evening rain and overcast cleared up--September trip. The two-bedroom cottage has sufficient room for our family of four. The beds were large and comfortable, and the sulfur smell in the water didn't bother us. The cooking stove was a bit confusing to use, but we eventually figured it out with help of Youtube. There was no shampoo provided in the bathroom, but we were able to obtain some from the reception even at late hours.

We loved the property! It's convenient to everything around the lake. The one issue is lack of communication before our stay. I kept asking via email if there was laundry service available. I asked multiple times with no response. We had to make other plans for laundry prior to getting here, only to find that this property does have laundry service. Other than that we were very happy!

Nice cute little cottages. Super close to all the activities around myvatn lake. Breakfast was amazing (great view!) and the main house was really cute. Cottages would be great for families and bigger groups as there are plenty of beds. Nice kitchenette as well.

This guesthouse scores highly on location (right on the lake and lava field), has kitchen facilities and a lounge area with great views for sitting in the evening. The downside is that the rooms are tiny. My husband and I traveled with a bag each and we had to climb over one of the bags to get to the bathroom. The bed is small too. We are not big or tall people and we had no room at all. The bed is pushed against the wall so you don’t even have room to slightly hang out of bed if needed and you need to shuffle down to get out of bed or climb over your partner to get out. The bathrooms are also tiny with a minuscule sink and towel hooks that don’t hook your towel so we ended up slinging them over the shower door. I would recommend this property on location but probably wouldn’t recommend it if you are staying (like we did) for several days as it’s simply too cramped. Can highly recommend Daddi’s Pizza and restaurant Gamli Berinn for great food and fantastic staff.

Overly rated place and Horrible service
This property is overly rated and expensive, not worth the price. It’sa smaller cabins than in pictures. The water quality smells with too much sulphur. We checked other places for water quality and it was not that bad. When we talked to the manager, she was not cooperative, we asked if we can get refund for one of the two nights of our stay , she refused it. We didn’t have good experience with hotel staff. We ended up staying only one night and moved on, lost money on one night.

Fantastic cabin in a great location
Fantastic cabin in a great location to explore the area. The hosts were fantastic and the breakfast was amazing (especially the hot spring baked bread). Cabin was very comfortable for the family with plenty of beds and good sized living and kitchen area.

Only time we spot northern light in Iceland!
Located in the center of the Myvatn region. Close to all nearby attractions. The wifi is not so good as expected. We have 4G hotspot which can do the job for communication. The best thing we had in this stay is that we saw the Northern light in the cabin!

Beautiful location, views were amazing. The gueshouse was new and clean. The only issue we had was that the pillows were sooo thin. Check-in was ok, but had trouble finding the people to check you in. They basically gave you the key and away you go. No offers to suggest breakfast or attractions etc.

This property was very accommodating. We were able to check in early. The property is right in the middle of the lava fields and has a great view of the lake. They have their dogs on site which was cool because we were missing our dogs at home. We were able to see the northern lights during our stay. Would definitely go back!

The lodging was great for our party of four. The only problem, was that it was pretty hot and difficult to cool the guesthouse down as there were a lot of bugs (though, not the fault of the guesthouse...). Just come prepared for the area.

Very small cottages, so that when someone takes a shower the sulfur smell permeates the whole cottage. Breakfast is excellent. Overpriced, but that seems to be characteristic of the area.
