0.2 mile/1056 feet to the Abalone Beach Access with free parking! Cozy cottage just steps away from Gallery Row! Appreciate the creative entrepreneurs of the OBX- & even purchase a piece of decor featured in the home to support local artists - 100% of the proceeds goes back to the local artist! House is conveniently located on a quiet street between the main road of the OBX and the old beach road! Excellent street to walk/bike to beach, restaurants, coffee shops, grab dessert, go shopping, etc!
The space
After a day at the beach or traveling about the Outer Banks, retreat to your home away from home with lots of private hideaways - Outdoor uncovered deck, screened in porch, large shaded area under the home and a sprawling fenced in back yard with live oaks! Go up one flight of stairs to enter main level into the living/dining room/kitchen and screened in porch. Also, on this level is a King size bedroom off kitchen with smart TV and full bathroom. Smart TV in living room. Go up internal flight of stairs to two more bedrooms (one with queen bed and one with two singles with smart TV). Ceiling fans throughout the home! TVs in all bedrooms!!! At ground level is a storage area under home with full size washer/dryer and outdoor shower!

You will have have access to the entire home with the exception of the locked owners closet under the home.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave in a pile in hamper or bathroom. Start a load of towels if you would like - not a request! Leave beds alone - do not strip!
Remove all trash from house (kitchen, bathroom, etc) place in dumpster outside of house. Make sure all dishes are clean, dry and put away. 
Turn all lights off. Set AC to 74 in summer and Heat to 68 in the winter at departure. Lock all doors & windows at your departure. If a key was used please put it back in lockbox.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

This is a sweet and cozy beach house! Very clean. Perfectly located close to our favorite places to eat, grocery store and of course the beach! Fantastic find for me and my family. Everything we needed was included as far as towels, kitchen items, bathroom items and fans. excellent communication from the host!

Super awesome stay!

Super host in a great place. The host was super responsive and made sure every detail was covered. I would stay again!! The fenced in yard was a key feature of choosing this property.

Lovely house and backyard

Really enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean and the location is close to a lot of the restaurants and stores we frequent. The backyard is large and private. It was the perfect space for my pups. Definitely recommend.

Perfect dog-friendly rental

We enjoyed our long weekend at Salty Paws and look forward to visiting again in the future! Our dogs loved the big backyard, and the host even provided bowls for them to use during our stay. Despite being so dog friendly, the house was spotless when we arrived, and the entry instructions were easy and provided well in advance. The house is in a great location, and we loved being able to walk to the beach, the grocery store, and lots of restaurants.

Pet-friendly property provided relaxing vacation...

We had a wonderful stay at this pet-friendly home in Nags Head! The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. It was such a bonus to be able to bring our dogs along—they loved it just as much as we did! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and unwind. It was just a short walk to the beach, which was great. The owners were AMAZING and provided constant communication and great suggestions for the area. Next time we're in OBX, my family and I would stay at this property again! Highly recommend!!

Salty Paws June 2025

We had a wonderful week staying at salty paws! It was the perfect place for our family and two cava poos. The beach is walking distance, along with the grocery store and some restaurants! The location is perfect and the place was clean and stocked with everything we needed! It was so nice to have beach chairs available along with other beach items! If we are in nags head again, we will definitely return! The communication with the owner was awesome as well!

Recommend!!

Had a great stay at this very pet friendly, perfectly located, comfortable home. The fenced, shaded yard was perfect for the dog to be as relaxed as me. The walk to the beach was just a couple of blocks. The house was perfectly centered for activities both north and south of Nags Head. Lots of communication took the guess work out of check in and check out.

A perfect beach getaway

The beach house was great. We loved the location, the fenced in backyard for Panda, the Rosemary bushes and the enclosed porch room. We took walks on the beach in Nags Head and on Pea Island and at Nags Head Woods and Kitty Hawk Woods. The items we had at Mama Kwan’s, The Orange Blossom Cafe, Lucky 12 Tavern and Red Drum Tavern were delicious. Thanks Gia.

Everyone liked the house. It was nice to have the kids upstairs and a separate master area for us. The screened in porch was a great feature!

Beach trip

We had 5 adults and the house was perfect for us. Has a nice fenced in backyard for the dog. Only issue we had was GPS took one group the wrong way, but otherwise was great!

Spring break trip

We stayed at Salty Paws for five days during our spring breakf. Gia’s home was lovely, clean, well stocked, comfy beds, and dog friendly! The short walkx to the beach was so nice, especially with cour dog. Gia was wonderful to communicate with. Check in was so easy! Highly recommend!

Let’s do it again!

Very well thought out layout of the house and property. The backyard is shaded and perfect for dogs! Within walking distance to beach and grocery store as well as restaurants. Gia was wonderful and accommodating as we had a slight change of plans prior to our arrival. She stayed in touch and made sure we had the best possible experience! So let’s do it again!

Awesome first family trip with doggo to the Outer Banks!

We loved this house, its location, its layout and its amenities! We traveled with our two teens and loved that they could have the upstairs bedrooms and bath while we enjoyed the lower level. The fenced in backyard and the proximity to the beach were awesome for our dog. One of our favorite spaces might have even been below the house as the swings, especially the double swing, were so comfy to read a book and we love a good outdoor shower! While others might have been excited, we were slightly disappointed that the screened porch that faces west is now a sunroom. The work was well done and the A/C unit kept the space cool, but we're suckers for a screened porch so the listing (especially the cover image that still features a screened porch) should probably be updated. While Gia was a gracious host, we had some confusion accessing the information about the house and were never able to find the "Welcome Guide" to understand some of the household quirks. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and loved how many beach items were available for our use (chairs, umbrellas, wagon, beach games etc.) to make our time on the sand awesome!
