We arrived at your hotel close to midnight after driving 9 hours with children. We entered the hotel to warm stale air. I asked if the AC was broken and receptionist said it was not broken. I then gave her my ID and credit card to check in as per procedure. She asked me to sign the tablet. I did. Then she told me that our room was on the third floor but the elevator was inoperable due to a storm two days prior. Also, that the phones were not working either but I could walk up and down the stairs to come to the front desk if we needed anything. I asked if there was anything in the first floor. She said no that the only other available room was on the second floor but had a taped up carpet. We told her this can not work for us because I have arthritis in my knees and hip, have a prosthetic hip and a reconstructed lower leg and ankle and a heart condition. This arrangement just isn't safe for me. She offered to cancel and refund the reservation, after we spent a couple hours looking around for another place to stay. I tried to call her cancel the reservation but was unable to get through , probably due to the phone issues she mentioned. So we drove 25 minutes back to your hotel to cancel the reservation. There was a gentleman at the front desk who had been advised of our situation. He cancelled the reservation then we drove 25 minutes back to the other hotel that we were luckily able to reserve. But had to pay considerably more that what we had booked with you. Not happy.
