The best part of the home was its location and space. We were able to fit all of our family and could easily get to all of the places we needed to in our jam-packed schedule. The downside was the home’s cleanliness. The bedding had little hairs and stains all over and had to be replaced before we felt comfortable sleeping in them. We had to vacuum the floor/rug as it was filthy. The outside areas (deck/porch) had obviously had no attention in quite some time judging by the amount of cobwebs, leaves, dirt, untidiness, etc.. that was everywhere. There was quite a bit of mold/fungus/mildew in the showers as well. The kitchen was nice, but lacked a few needed tools/utensils/cleaning items. We also found a bottle of water lying in a corner that was there from a previous guest. I did contact the host as soon as I was able to (we were busy for the entirety of our stay) and let them know what we experienced and was just told we should have let them know sooner. But let’s be real, even if we had done that, who wants a stranger coming in and cleaning when we couldn’t be there to supervise or especially if we had been present and trying to have our family time? Overall, we had a nice time as we were able to “make it work”, but mainly just enjoyed our time together as a family that is usually spread out across the country from each other due to the military.
