The house was very comfortable w/ plenty of space to accommodate gathering and privacy. The kitchen functioned beautifully w/ a well stocked walk in pantry. The house has the Chalk Mountain that sets the mountain tone of beauty and inspiration
The house was great for what we needed it for. A great family gathering with plenty of space for seven people. Property manager was very friendly and helpful with any of our needs throughout the process.
I booked this home for my entire family for a 90th Birthday party for my dad who lives in Buena Vista. The home was perfect for us. We had 6 adults and 4 children. Each couple had their own bathroom plus a 1/2 bath in the main area. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and have privacy. The setting was beautul. Outdoor activities for everyone. It couldnt have been better. Highly recommend this place. We will come back!
Our group loved this cabin and we would definitely stay here again! Our favorite area was the big backyard and patio, and we really enjoyed the bocce ball and shuffle board that was provided. There’s plenty of seating for everyone, inside and outside. The kitchen and bathrooms are very well stocked. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. The cabin is in a great location. The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking and it’s easy to get to. There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and grocery stores close by. Our group came to the area to ride utvs and there’s a good selection of trails close by! We enjoyed our stay and we hope to make it back in the future!
The property gave so many great places to sleep and play. We played games, hiked, enjoyed the great surrounding towns and will definitely go back.

Beautiful
The fall colors are amazing in October. The house is laid out a little funky but it was very nice. There is zero cell reception which was also very nice. Loved the house and will definitely recommend it.
The house was more beautiful than the photos and more spacious. We would love to see this beautiful home during the summer. The creek is at the back of the spacious yard and the mountain views are beyond compare! The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
This home is perfection for a family get away. It has a little bit of everything, and so much room to spread out, explore, and be in nature. We loved absolutely everything about this property, it’s amenities, all of the room to spread out inside of the home, the location, the VIEWS, the creek…I could go on and on, but I wouldn’t do this place justice. We’re truly hoping to return in the years to come. You won’t regret staying here!
Great house with a stocked kitchen. The house was very clean. The huge field out back was great for watching the herds of deer. Chalk Creek runs behind the field. It’s a very pretty stretch of water and one night we saw a moose walking through the creek. Amazing stay. My out of town friends were blown away at the beauty of the valley.
My son got married and it was a great place to stay so we were all together.
I emailed the property manager and called a few days later before our stay about an early check in. No one ever reached out to me.
This is our favorite getaway. We’ve been twice now, and are already planning round three. This property and home are unmatched in space and beauty. Literally everyone in your family can be appointed their own “wing” to sneak away to. The setup is phenomenal, I can’t rave about it enough. The views, the way the light shone through the house windows…just GORGEOUS. We enjoyed nights outside by the fire, exploring the water & nearby trails. We hiked, read, completely disconnected, and retuned home to the city completely refreshed. The home is so well appointed, and we had everything we needed and more. Also, the deer, bunnies, and hummingbirds were pure magic. Thank you for hosting my family once again. We cannot wait to come back!
We enjoyed this location and the outdoor spaces were wonderful. Our family had a great time. We did feel, though, that it is not accurate to represent the house as having five bedrooms. It has three bedrooms, it has a bed in a second kitchen and it has a pull-out couch. The Master Suite is terrific but is located right off the main room, can’t be locked, windows on door with curtains offering no privacy. Suggest some changes to make that a more private spot.

We found the accommodations more than adequate.
Great place. Perfect for two couples and three kids. How can’t tell you how excited the kids were to run in the snow outside. We had two living quarters that allowed both families to have their own space and meet in the middle for meals and games. We found it especially convenient for skiing. Monarch was forty minutes away. Ski Cooper an hour away and Copper less than an hour and a half. We had our choice of towns to go eat dinner plus the hot springs were only three miles away. What a location!!
Thanks Renee for helping make our spring break so wonderful.
The owners were very easy to communicate with when I had questions before our stay. We had a problem with the lights in one of the rooms. I sent a text to the owners at 9pm. He came right over to fix it. No issues at all. Very kind of him! This house had a ton of room for all of us and we never felt like we were invading each others space. Plenty of room to spread out. Lots of walking space around the outside and a nice little trail and stream behind the house as well. Very pretty land!

Family vacation
Plenty of living space! Two kitchens two living areas but only one of each was used. The master bedroom/bathroom was good except the entry to the room had full windowed double doors with sheer curtains on the doors. Those doors opened to the main living area. The bedrooms on the other side of the house were odd in that they didn't have proper doors either. The house really needed another bathroom to match the sleeping capacity. We had six adults and six small children. The kitchen was great and the pantry was awesome. The location, setting and privacy was first class. It has the potential to be a homerun place if some of the odd quirks inside were addressed. The bedroom/bathroom situation probably would not have been OK if the children were older. The location was 20/30 mins. from Buena Vista. Not bad. Lots of hiking trails near by. Plenty of mowed area behind the house for the kids to play. It was quiet with no close neighbors and little traffic. My suggestion would be to turn the older extra kitchen into a bathroom, put proper doors on the secondary bedrooms and widen the hallway where those rooms are.
My family has been coming to this area for over 70 years and were thrilled to return again this summer. The Meadows cabin was very spacious for our group and we all had our own little areas, but spent a lot of time gathered around the big table. It does get warm during bright sunny days and temps over 80, but just remember to close all the blinds before you leave for the day. Nice little walk to the creek- but only saw deer in the meadow once and they were just running through. We had everything we needed - and really like this location close to fishing, OHV trails, Buena Vista, and Salida.
One bedroom floor is a rough concrete slab and the adjoining bathroom has a slanted ceiling and a bit claustrophobic. Lots of windows which made for nice sleeping when open- but very bright beginning at about 5am and warmed up quickly. We were also disappointed to learn that Buena Vista/Chaffee County have removed all their public recycling convenience centers in 2021 and the property owners do not pay for recycling services.
The home could not better. Clean, crisp and inspiring. Marvelousness manifest. Stunning views. Natural tranquility and oh yeah, some mountains. Define tly coming back. Yeah baby…
Wonderful location next to the river and with magnificent views front and rear. Home was inviting and all that was advertised. Only regret was that on the last day one of our party fell ill which precluded a family of 5 getting to come.
