Thought it would be better

The walls were dirty and had holes in them; no hot water for our showers; TV remote didn't work and some channels faded in and out. The bathroom was clean, for which we were grateful, and the desk staff at checkin were helpful. The view was great!

Beautiful View

The size of the suites were great! Out my front door I could see the ocean and out the back window I could see the mountains, it was gorgeous!! There were some things that I was not impressed with, crayon marks on the wall, the elevator's down button didn't work, the continental breakfast was VERY basic, but overall I was pleased with my stay.

Um, are you serious?

Where should I start? The check in procedure was an absolute labor. Took about 15 minutes to confirm my stay and get my key. The key didn't work so I asked a housekeeper to see if her master key would open my door...it didn't. So I go back downstairs to get another room. Instead they send me back upstairs with a maintenance man to see if he can get the door open with the key that I just tried. Did they think that I was that incompetent? So anyways, he can't get it open either so we go back to the lobby to find another room. They put me on the top floor (floor 12) and finally, this room key works but there's a crazy loud fan noise in my room. I request to get moved to one of the lower floors (floor 8) and still I hear this loud noise. To make things worse, the bed sagged like crazy and I just had one of the worst nights sleep ever!! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Poor service, poor facilities, poor stay!

This is not a 3 star hotel

The condition of the hotel was not good. We moved from the 12th floor to the 8th floor because of noose of the air conditioning unit on the roof and the noose was still very noticeable. Parking was very limited on the hotel site. There were limited eating or shopping establishments in the area. I would not stay there again.

DIRTY. DIRTY.. DIRTY HOTEL!

Dirty Hotel- This hotel was very dirty. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. I wouldn't even call this as hotel. They claim to have a refrigerator. Please don't believe it because it will not work. The whole hotel is dirty. One of the elevators was out of order and the other elevator shook like it was going to fall. The room celing had cracks in the corners of the room. The mattress was poor and the spings felt like they were exposed. They didn't even have enough parking for all the rooms. you may have to park across the street and walk to the hotel and the streets are dirty too. Its in a bad neighbourhood. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE...

Basic Hotel

Arrived at 1:30 a.m. and received hotel room on top floor. Don't stay in room less than 3 rooms from the elevator shaft. Don't stay on 12th floor as AC on room begins to rumble at 6:00 a.m. as individuals awake. Hotel room access is from outside so if you have a fear of heights, this hotel is not for you. Hotel is convenient to nearby restaurants and I-5 freeway access. Very close to Coronado Island. Hotel is now called Bay View Suites. Did arrive without razor blade and front desk did provide one for free. Desk personnel were friendly.

San Diego Nightmare

This is no longer a Red Lion, it appears to have been purchased by a company that does not have the same standards. The age of the hotel in easily seen. The wind coming through the doorway sounded like a hurricane. The water spout in the bath tub fell off. The wake up call came every morning at 5:30 am even though we hadn't asked for one, and continued even after we asked for it to be stopped. The surrounding area is not the best with sirens heard often. I can't recommed staying here.
