Welcome to the Armadillo Yurt! Come enjoy beautiful green space and nature in comfort and style with the convenience of restaurants, shopping, music venues (Gruene Hall, Whitewater Amphitheater, etc), nightlife and water activities (Canyon Lake and river floating at the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers) all within a short distance away. In addition, the electronic rental agreement must be signed prior to check-in.

Located on Hunter Road, directly outside of historic Gruene, TX, lies this brand new unique & secluded vacation spot. Nestled underneath towering oak trees with Spanish moss creates the most perfect and peaceful setting for your weekend getaway. Each of our 5 Yurts were specifically assembled with your privacy in mind to create a one-of-a-kind, hill country glamping experience. Pull up a chair under the shade and relax as the sounds of nature ease your mind and spirit. It’s the proximity of the great outdoors that makes this unique accommodation such an amazing experience.

Texas Yurt Haus is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway or extended stay. Ideal for a romantic couple’s getaway, girls’ weekend, father/son bonding trip, or family vacation A one-of-a-kind experience you won’t soon forget! Less than 5 minutes from Historic Gruene and the Guadalupe River.

A clear dome located directly over the bed allows natural light to stream in during the day and a glimpse of the stars and moon at night before you drift off to sleep. Rainy nights in a yurt are unlike any other!

We love traveling with our fur babies just as much as anyone, so we do have pet friendly yurt options available! This yurt is pet friendly. 1 dog under 40lb allowed at a rate of $25 per night.

Please keep in mind that this is a glamping experience, offering the comforts of indoor living while still being immersed in a natural, outdoor setting. Because of this, encounters with bugs or critters are possible.

Additionally, New Braunfels is a train town, and this property is located near active train tracks. For guest comfort, we provide ear plugs and a white noise machine to help minimize any disruptions.

This property is a short 10 mile drive to Whitewater Amphitheatre located on the banks of the Guadalupe River Horseshoe and less than 3 miles to the area's best nearby attractions including live music at Gruene Hall, Gruene Historic District and Rockin R Tube Rentals! Visit crystal clear Canyon Lake and the beautiful scenic River Road. Visit America’s Favorite Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Wurstfest, Landa Park, Landa Park Golf Course and the Comal River tube chute. Close to grocery stores, gas stations and plenty of river outfitters to find all your river essentials.

Host must be 25 years of age or older to make a reservation and must stay at the property. No smoking. This property has a maximum occupancy of 2 guests. This maximum occupancy is not to be exceeded at any time. No daytime guests allowed. To comply with city and county short-term rental permit restrictions, the outdoor areas of this home may be monitored by video camera. This property includes accidental damage protection up to $1500.

Communication with the management company was great and they were always available for any questions. The property was easy to locate and very clean. A great setup with plenty of privacy. Location was amazing. While it did provide privacy and a secluded experience it was also very close to town (only about a 7 minute drive). We will definitely be coming to stay again.

We really enjoyed the Yurt and its proximity to Gruene was fantastic. The trains ran ALL NIGHT long and blasted their horns for 20-30 minutes at a time and were very hard to "block out" even with the supplied ear plugs. Its worth staying there but be wary if you are a light sleeper you wont be able to do to the trains.

After getting maintenence out to property the a/c limped along and it was hot during the day and only cooled off at night.

A cozy and private getaway near New Braunfels

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check-in was super smooth, and the property felt peaceful and private. The yurts are nicely spaced out and a great size. We especially loved the cozy patio and getting to see wildlife right outside. It really felt like a hotel stay, just with more charm, more privacy, and way better views.I tend to get hot easily, but even with the heat and humidity, the yurt stayed cool and comfy the entire time, which was such a relief.We did see a few bugs that seem to get in through the overhead window, but way fewer than expected for being so close to nature.The only real downside was that some of the linens (pillow and sheets) and the indoor chair had very visible stains. The gray throw pillows also had a lot of fur on them, and something had dried on the toilet lid. I’m big on cleanliness when I travel, so that was a bit disappointing. That said, the bedding itself was comfortable.The remote for the patio lights wasn’t working, but we were able to just plug them in manually. One of the bathroom lights above the mirror was also out.If I had a few suggestions: • Double-check the bedding and seating between guests • Replace any burnt-out bulbs • Add another mirror (maybe above the bed or a small vanity-style one) so someone can get ready privately if the bathroom is in use • A few hangers and standard trash bags would be a nice touch tooOverall though, it was such a sweet, relaxing stay in a beautiful area. We’d absolutely come back again.
