Lovely and relaxing!
Very clean. Nice location. Across street from private beach and lighthouse. Gracious and accommodating host. We had a little snafu checking in but owner resolved quickly. If you have difficulty with stairs, this may not be a good choice for you.

Well equipped property
The owner gone had thought of everything right down to the fact that you may actually need saran wrap or aluminum in the kitchen to having all of the needs for the bath. This was our first VRBO experience where there was plenty of towels, chairs, and activities for everyone to enjoy while laid out and well thought out property very impressed and look forward to returning.

September Getaway
There is so much to do in southeast Connecticut between New London, Foxwoods, Mystic, Niantic, Madison, etc. And always great to come “home” in the evening to this VRBO. Second consecutive September stay and certainly won’t be the last. Dawn has truly earned the “super host” title!

Amazing, wonderful vacation!!
I cannot imagine a nicer or more luxurious place to stay! The house is embellished with top of the line furniture, bedding, appliances, lighting, flooring and is so well thought out and decorated. It is not like going to a beach house, but rather like going to a luxurious, private retreat! And yet it is right across the street from a beautiful private beach! We could have stayed here indefinitely if our obligations didn’t drag us home. The cool ocean breeze passed through the open windows each night (although it is has top-of-the-line air conditioning). The quietness along with the soothing sounds of crickets and the waves lapping the beach had us sleeping like logs and waking up refreshed. The bedding and the linens are clean, crisp and luxuriously soft. The back yard provides privacy and is a great place to sip some wine while sitting near the gorgeous weeping willow tree. We are thankful to our hosts, who thought of every little detail, for a wonderful time. If you have a chance to go to the Carriage House, do not pass it up. It was an incredible experience!!

Breath of fresh air
This was our 3rd time staying at this wonderful place. Recent renovations were very nice. We had a fantastic time as usual! One of our favorite things to do is sit next to the windows that look out at the ocean, and feel the wonderful breeze. We tried On the Waterfront for the first time and really loved it! Hope we can return to this magical place again in the future. 😊

Everything You Need
Lighthouse Point Carriage House has great views of the private sandy beach across the street. I packed water shoes as some Connecticut beaches are rocky, but didn't need them. The neighborhood is walkable and there is plenty to do in the area, from Mystic Seaport to a water cruise. The Carriage House is modern, spotless and air-conditioned for a summer visit. The hosts have thoughtfully supplied the house with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

Don't Hesitate - Book it.
It was a great experience from booking through leaving. Upon arrival, everything was as described, if not better. The location was in a great spot, the housing was clean and modern, and there were lots of little touches that made the stay special. I'd never hesitate staying here again.

Weekend Getaway
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious, updated, well-appointed one bedroom apartment. It is located two house back from the beach. There is a water view of the Fishers Island Sound from the living room. The owner was very responsive and professional in dealing with an unexpected issue. We would heartily recommend this property.

Better than ever!
This is our second visit to the Carriage House and it was even lovelier than our first. Dawn and Tim have made some wonderful changes: the bathroom was redone (and the shower better than ever), the appliances in the kitchen are new, and the carpeting has been replaced by a rattan area rug that makes the apartment seem more summery. The view from the windows is as mesmerizing, as always, and the bed and seating are extremely comfortable. We saw a little more of Dawn on this visit, and she is a warm and responsive host. This is a great place to visit if you like long walks near the ocean. We would particularly suggest Ocean Beach Park, the Niantic Beach boardwalk and Harkness State Park. The last blew us away when we first saw it. There are also two terrific small museums: the Florence Griswold Museum, in old Lyme and a Lyman Allyn Museum in New London. It’s an easy drive from here to lots of other interesting places on the coast. If you’re feeling lazy, it’s wonderful to sit and read in the apartment and enjoy the ever-changing view. We’ll be back!

Comfortable, welcoming, with a wonderful view.
If their were a downside to the Carriage House, it would be the view which could lull you into a state of inactivity just watching the weather change over the water and the ferries' progress in and out of New London harbor. Once you stir yourself, though, there is plenty to do within a brisk walk or a few minutes drive. The apartment is nicely furnished and spotless with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating, The bedroom was cozy and the bed was very comfortable, too. Dawn and Tim were amazing hosts who seem dedicated to make sure you have a wonderful stay. They succeeded, and we can't wait to return.

My wife and I have stayed at a lot of VRBO properties over our 6+ years of dealing with VRBO. Most host are Good. Few are Great. Dawn and Tim are GREAT! They put the "finishing touches" on your stay with them that most others would either miss, or perhaps just not care about. Everything they've put in the apartment, are "high end" products. It's as if we were members of their family. Dawn even put Lindt Chocolates on our dresser, and Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies in a basket in the kitchen for our enjoyment (which we did indeed enjoy). God made some people in life specifically to be hostesses, and Dawn is a Perfect Hostess. My wife and I took a 24 day New England vacation during September to celebrate her retirement. We stayed 4 nights in 6 different states at 6 different locations. Dawn and Tim were our last stop. By the time we got there, we were tired! What a Blessing their apartment was for pure relaxation. I could have sat and watched the ships come in and go out of the harbor all day long. Simply put, our stay with Dawn and Tim was PERFECTION! Thanks again for a Wonderful stay.

Family vacation
This was the first real vacation for our family of four, and we had a fantastic time! The private beach was perfect for the little ones as it wasn't crowded and we could keep an eye on them easily. The location was close to many attractions, including the Mystic Aquarium, the Submarine Museum, and Fort Trumbull. There were lots of great eateries nearby to satisfy all of our cravings. Furthermore, Dawn had thought of all of the little details in preparation for her guests. We found utensils and dinnerware for little ones, and even a step stool, which my daughter needed to wash her hands and brush her teeth at the counter. We would definitely recommend this rental for anyone traveling with kids!

Perfect getaway with private beach!
Our stay was perfect with the perfect hosts. We enjoyed wonderful weather while here. Dawn’s place lacks for nothing and provides much than expected. Everything we could have needed (and more) was right there. It is clean, bright, and airy. Having the beach right across the street is great! Dawn even provides beach towels and chairs. Highly recommend taking the ferry to Block Island. I suggest renting mopeds - renting the bike was fine….it was just the riding itself that was a little challenging for some of the 13 miles!!! It is a super day trip. Cannot wait to return! A wonderful, relaxing, fun trip!

Immaculate; great location
We stayed here over Easter weekend. It was perfect. Even though our plans fell through for what we hoped to do (sadly, Lorde had laryngitis so no concert at Mohegan Sun); we still had a wonderful time. We explored Mystic and enjoyed walks on the beach across the street. It was easy to bounce back from changed plans while staying in such a pleasant space. One of our best VRBO experiences.

We were blessed to find this gem in New London while attending a visit at the Coast Gaurd Academy. It was a wonderful cottage to unwind and walk on the beach. The amenities are 5 star including the kitchen.

Beautiful Serene Getaway by the Beach
My friend and I had a lovely stay at Dawn's place. The level of care and detail at the place was truly impressive and made for an outstanding weekend. Check-in was seamless with the keypad, and Dawn was very responsive to all of our questions. The place itself is exactly as described - a cozy space above the garage with beautiful views. Lovely down comforters kept us warm despite the cold weekend. The fireplace is unique and mesmerizing, and they have a well-stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook if you choose to do so (pots, pans, knives, baking dishes, olive oil, and a good variety of spices, too!). Delicious coffee beans with a grinder and french press. It's a quick walk to the private beach, which we enjoyed every day despite the cold and the nor'easter. It must be even more lovely in the summer when you can swim! We'd love to return again.
