This is a spacious 3 bedroom house that has everything that you need to relax and enjoy. The property is located on top of a hill and has two great decks overlooking the lake. Upper and lower decks are used to sun, grill, meditate, stretch, rest, etc. The lake views are phenomenal. The property owners Deidre and John were exceptionally accommodating and available. A private beach in the complex is in walking distance that isn't populated, and has cozy lounge chairs spread out. Nearby hiking area surrounds the perimeter of the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and neighbors were warm and hospitable. New Medford is a sleepy safe town with a friendly antique place called The Hunt. It has very low covid rates. Easy shopping nearby too!
Beautiful View and Neighborhood but Needs Some Help
Neighborhood was great, as were the beautiful views and location. Linens were good quality and the house was generally clean. Plenty of space. No check in information, and the host did not send it until 2 hours prior to our arrival, which led us to contact Vrbo for potential fraud. That caused us major concern. The place needs some help. No TV when we arrived. Host brought one, but could not get it to work, so we had to buy a portable DVD player. No curtains or blinds on glass sliding doors in two bedrooms, which were open to the neighbors' view, so we fashioned curtains from brown paper and painters tape we found. That was a major privacy issue. Ice maker and water dispenser in fridge non-functional. Buy your own ice. Upstairs tub took 24 hours to drain. Top deck furniture had no cushions, so unusable. Grill grate mostly rusted through, flaking iron shards and a health hazard. Patio stones had grout mostly gone, so uneven, loose, and a major tripping hazard as witnessed by my severely skinned knees and shins. Understand host recently bought the house, so perhaps not completely prepared. The highlight was a trio of chickens who visited daily to pay their respects. Good place, with some work. Not worth the price as is, bring your survival skills.
Our family of six had a memorial service to attend around the area of Washington Depot, so the location in new Milford was very convenient for us. It was a comfortable house, and was perfect for our needs for a quick in and out of town. The house could use some maintenance on the exterior and updating, but it was very clean and very well stocked with all the basics. Slept better in these beds then I do my own at home! Very peaceful neighborhood with lovely views of the lake. The property owners are very responsive and were delightful to communicate with. Our family was very grateful to find this home to stay in for our short weekend trip!
The place is great to relax, right in front of the lake. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The host was great and pretty responsive, and the information was accurate.
The description and location of the property were exactly as offered. There is lots of space inside and outside of the home to gather or find a quiet spot. The best was the spectacular view of the lake from just about every room in the house. Very hilly area so it could be challenging for some folks. Loved the lake, kayaking and spending time with family. I would recommend this property to anyone.
