We had an absolutely perfect experience staying here. The owner is professional, polite, and prompt. The home itself is beautiful and surely has a long history. I stayed here with a group of friends and we all had a positive experience. The location is great and it’s easy to walk places from here.
This is a lovely property with a great historic New Orleans feel. One block from St Charles and the Mardi Gras parade routes. Easy access to all the New Orleans entertainment. Great hosts. A wonderful New Orleans trip!
We had such a Wonderful time! Conrad is Amazing and very hands on! He made our stay so comfortable and his Home is Beautiful! We will always cherish his hospitality! I
His home had such a historical feeling and the Garden District was lovely! I would highly recommended this property for your next NOLA visit!
Nice place but in need of repair, owner super responsive
The house was nice, classic. It was in need of repair. The paint was chipping everywhere. It felt a bit like a ruin.
The beds were okay except one, which was so compressed on one side, it created a constant struggle not to roll off. When we ran one of the upstairs tubs, water dripped down (rapidly) through the floor and into the front hall. So effectively only one functional shower.
The location was okay, in a bit of a mixed neighborhood but well located in terms of proximity to sites and services. There was construction on the lot next door into the evening, which was very loud. The owner handled it quickly.
Check-in was a breeze. The property’s three spacious bedrooms provided great accommodations for my husband and I, our daughter and son-in-law, and their two boys, ages 3 and 7 months. The home has been lovingly restored, but still shows a few signs of former age-related damage (water spots, some peeling paint). These little flaws did not interfere with our enjoyment of the property! The beds were comfortable; bathrooms were modernized but with a vintage vibe; water pressure good; air conditioning was more than adequate for daytime temperatures in the upper 80s while we were there (early October). There is an off-street parking spot that we didn’t use because it is for a compact car, but we never had a problem parking right in front of the house. The ONLY negative was that the hot water is EXTREMELY hot. Parents should monitor bath and shower water temperatures for children. Also, the pipes make it take a little while and several adjustments to get the water temperature set to a comfortable temperature.
We appreciated the baked goods and other goodies provided—very nice touch. We will definitely keep this property in mind for future visits.

So much potential
This house was pleasent but in need of repair. The interior decorating was fitting to New Orleans but the seating wasn't very comfortabel as it was old and without much stuffing. The bedrooms were well appointed and the beds were comfy. The en suite shower was barely big enough to fit me as a small woman so I imagine it would be uncomfortable if you were larger or taller. The listing discusses a hot tub but it was not working and we were provided with a portable one for our stay. Based on older comments it seems the hot tub has not been working for years. There was a driveway but you would need to rent a compact car to be able to use it easily. As a mother on vacation with her two daughters I found the neighborhood concerning. While there are plenty of renovated homes with very expensive cars in their driveways there are also many homeless individuals that you need to navigate to get to St Charles Street and the neighboring property is a hostel. We were only approached one time outside the house by a woman looking for food and the property does come with a security system which gave me some piece of mind. The owners were response and very gracious.
If you love the charm of a home that was built in the 1800's with modern amenities this is the right one! The host was amazing ! This was a quick anniversary get away for us. It offers all of the privacy you could ask for while being just a block from St. Charles. Will definitely be back
Classic New Orleans house. Clean and full of personality. Very comfortable. Excellent location! Just remember, folks: this house is more than 100 years old so it’s not like modern homes. (The shower takes a few extra minutes to get hot. The doors are creaky.) But for those who love NOLA, that’s part of the appeal.I would definitely stay here again.
Conrad’s place was just what my family needed for our weekend visit. Spacious and well thought out. We’ve traveled nearly every continent. Conrad & Linda were the most hospitable host we’ve met!
Fantastic older home, huge living space that is of the period. Loved the house. I read other reviews criticizing the house because of its age. It’s an old historic house, it’s what gives it its uniqueness, charm and lends to the experience. We loved our time there. Completely walkable location and I highly recommend!!

La Maison Carondelet is perfect for a Nola trip
We had a great time at La Maison Carondelet. It's in a convenient location to reach St. Charles, Magazine St., CBD, and the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved the location and the amount of room we had. It worked out perfectly for us. Very convenient and close to most things we wanted to see in the area. And the style and decor made it feel like an authentic New Orleans experience.
Everything was great. Plenty of charm and lots of atmosphere. It was exactly what we were looking for. Way parking too

LOVED this home
We stayed here a weekend in April. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The house is spotless, and so nicely furnished. It was so much nicer than most vacation rentals we've stayed in before. It was perfect for 3 couples, as all 3 rooms are comparably sized with a queen or king bed. The owner was also so helpful. The fresh flowers, fresh baked goods, prosecco and orange juice were a lovely touch, and greatly appreciated upon arrival. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to New Orleans!
This place was awesome while we were in New Orleans. It’s so cute and old and we loved it! The hosts had a bottle of Prosecco, orange juice and chilled glasses for us in the fridge. They also had some pastries and stuff there for us too.
We had a suburban and 20 foot trailer and there’s street parking galore which was really important for us.
Would stay here again when I go back to NOLA!!!!!
We had a great experience in this lovely home. Centrally located. Very comfortable. Had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place if you want to get a real feel for what it’s like to live in New Orleans. We felt like locals, not tourists. The place felt clean and safe. We even weathered a tornado during our stay. We hid out in the downstairs bathroom and felt so safe. Thank you!
Charming NOLA home in beautiful, quiet neighborhood
We spent 4 nights at this historic home in the Garden district. It has a lot of old world charm but was also comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well stocked and we were greeted with Prosecco and orange juice - an appreciated touch. Check-in was very easy and Carlton, the owner, very accommodating and helpful. The beds are comfortable, many towels are provided and the A/C works well (except for one bathroom - but there were plenty of fans provided). The location is delightful - close to shops and restaurants on Magazine St. and close to the trolley. I recommend this home to anyone who wants to experience NOLA as a "local".
I cannot say enough about our stay at Fauxburg Livaudais. It met every single one of our expectations and more! This historic home made us feel like we were truly a part of this magical city. The location, just one block away from the St. Charles streetcar got us almost everywhere we needed to go affordably and enjoyably.
The house itself is exactly as advertised. It was pristine, extremely comfortable (great beds!) and just absolutely beautiful. The sections of peeling paint didn't bother us at all; it actually added to the experience of staying in an original Garden District homes.
The beautiful gas lamps, vintage yet comfortable furniture, grand floor to ceiling windows, coupled with the modern comforts of home (modern appliances, temperature control, hot tub - which we used every night) made it the perfect place to decompress after busy days and nights spent in the French Quarter, Garden District, and points beyond.
Conrad was responsive, friendly, and accommodating at every turn. Our last day rental car plans were delayed and he allowed us to leave our luggage at the house past our check out time until our car was ready. His welcome gift of champagne, orange juice, chilled glasses, and local bakery fare were such a special and appreciated touch.
The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant; not as opulent as the heart of the Garden District, but beautiful nonetheless, making this home an incredible value for all it offers.
We're still on cloud nine and dream of coming back to NOLA and staying here. Thank you!

Poor experience with owners
My family started receiving small red bites on the second day of staying at the home. My wife had violent allergic reactions to the bites and by the 5th day following exhaustive research we were convinced that there were bed bugs in the residence. We contacted the owners regarding the bites and stated that we could not stay there any longer. A verbal agreement was reached over the phone that they would place us in a hotel for the remaining 2 nights, refund our rent of the remaining 2 nights and return our damage deposit. An exterminator was hired and no bed bugs were found in the residence. The Conrads refused to return our damage deposit even though we were not in violation of any part of it and that what occurred was an extenuating circumstance. False accusations of ruining a pillow were used to justify withholding of the DD even though the pillow that was thrown away was brought down by one of my group. As beautiful as this house is, I strongly recommend not staying here due to the fact that if any issues arise, do not expect the owners to be accommodating. A complaint has been lodged against them with VRBO-results unknown.
