The room was tidy and had everything we needed. The bathroom had great lighting on the mirror (which a lady always appreciates), and the staff were very helpful.
We had a wonderful stay at WG Creole House in New Orleans. The property was exceptionally clean, and communication with the host was smooth and responsive. The price was perfect for the high quality and what we received, making it great value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient base in the city.
Parking on the street was interesting, but didn’t have any issues. Loved the interior and our room. The private bathroom was nice and everything was clean. Our air conditioning worked great for our needs. Only met the housekeeper once, but I liked her very much.
Very lovely spot overall! Great building and architecture. Shower/bathroom was small for me and my boyfriend (we are both over 5’7”/6’2” 200+ lbs so we are big folk we know but just for reference)! Bedroom was super cool, the AC was nice it just didn’t get as cold as we were used to back home/with the LA 90+ degree weather/humidity. Didn’t see any staff during our 3 day stay which was totally fine. We did book because we were under the impression there’d be a private parking lot, but it is just street parking. Again, not a bad thing but something to keep in mind as there are a lot of folks out and about around the area. Bourbon street is about at 20-25 minute walk without the streetcar (which was delayed/down for us). Honestly would recommend for more solo travelers/smaller people haha! Good stay though and appreciate the time spent there!
Beautiful place to stay for travelers looking for traditional and quiet New Orleans home. Very historical spacious and clean. Property looked almost identical to photos.Staff provided clear instructions on building and room entrance all amenities were provided. Good for visitors looking for quiet residential place within 10-20 mins walking distance from activities and restaurants and did not disappoint
Very charming house! The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The bed was a little firm, which wasn’t awful for us but if you’re really particular about having a soft fluffy mattress you might be uncomfortable. The only concerning thing was that as we were packing to leave, who I’m assuming to be the owner knocked on our door & we told her we were still there & would be another minute. That was maybe 10 minutes before our check out time at 11:00. Then right as our time to check out hit, she busted through the door without knocking or anything. She was nice & all but it was a little uncomfortable getting the rest of our belongings together while she stood there & chatted. She was nice though. If I could give a suggestion, it would be to wait until 11:01 & knock before coming in. They also allowed us to leave our luggage under the stairs before our check in time.
For the classy room (down stairs) the private bathroom is in the hallway (not in the room). Besides that being a little awkward, the bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of closet space, mini fridge in the room and the curtains definitely kept it nice, dark and cool in the morning!
On street parking only but there were spots open close to entrance. This is a small boutique style hotel. No front desk or on-site staff. You let yourself in with a code provided in a text prior to arrival. There is a small kitchen area where you can make a pot of coffee if you like. Room was upstairs. It was small with very small bath but was clean and bed was comfortable. Our room had a portable a/c unit which worked well - not sure if that was due to a/c malfunction, or if it is a permanent set-up. There is a small fridge and nice TV. We would have liked a small chair or stool to sit on and put shoes on, etc. but there isn’t lots of extra room as the bed was king size. Overall we were pleased with the property, it was a great price and they allowed booking just 1 night. We felt safe.
Lovely place with a lovely, helpful housekeeper. Very comfortable and clean. Would stay here again. Walking distance to the quarter but outside of the craziness in a quiet area.
Pros:
Charming, clean, and well-kept property in a great location.
Cons:
Privacy is an issue. The downstairs room is directly connected to the caretaker’s room, and the wall/door is so thin it feels like they’re in the room with you — you can hear every word, cough, and movement.
Close to everything but a little of the beaten path. A nice place to stay and convenient to get to almost anywhere in the New Orleans area. Not much of a walking area but you can grab a scooter and get to anywhere quickly. Great place to sit and relax in the main open area and the ability to use the kitchen if need be. Also has a great little restaurant at the corner of the street that is a must try.
Excellent location, conveniently located near major railcar routes. Caretaker is friendly and attentive, and on-site team was very responsive. Would wholeheartedly recommend for all travelers to New Orleans.
My time at the WG Guesthouse was great! The staff doesn’t bother you and the ease of check-in and out was explained clearly. The only hiccup I had was around 2:30 am whe the guest from upstairs knocked on my door because they thought they locked themselves out of their room. It was an unexpected annoyance. Other than that incident the time spent was great!
