Lovely stay!

School House Rocks
What a wonderful place to stay. What wonderful hosts. We're seniors newly in love looking for a romantic getaway. The location was perfect for day trips. Perfect for romance. So many little amenities that you would not expect. Dancing by the fire pit in the late twilight was one of the romantic moments of our lives. As it could be anyone's life whether it be their dawn, mid-day, or in their twilights like us. We're already booked for October. Thank you Chet & Carol J&B

Stay to visit nearby family
Th OSS worked out great for 4 adults. The room with 3 twin beds is very large so was perfect for 2 adults. Every amenity we could have wanted was available - bottled water, coffee, tea and towels. The house was very clean and the internet was great. We loved the table in the living room for putting a puzzle together. We will stay again when in the area.

Work trip
The host was friendly and welcoming. Our trip was for work and we will definitely be back in the future. This is what hospitality should be. Water, snacks, dish cleaning and laundry supplies all supplied if you needed them. Ten out of ten!

We are staying short term. While we working in the area. The place has met all of our expectations. Convenient, clean , easy parking and a great host. That help us out any time we asked. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a stay in the area.

Excellent place to stay!
Our family of four stayed for several nights this winter. It was our second stay, our first time was during the summer. Both visits were very comfortable. Our two older teens easily shared one bedroom, there are several twin beds, plus a futon. Plenty of clean towels in the bathrooms and kitchen, plus small toiletries in the bath with the shower (very thoughtful). The person cleaning the property cares for it like her own (impressively clean and neat). A nice assortment of snacks offered, lots of coffee and tea pods, plus detergent in the laundry room. Furnished rooms on both levels, and very easy driveway parking immediately outside the front door (straight in, no steps). A small private porch at the entry with table and chairs, facing a lovely expanse of grass and trees. Local region guide magazines provided. Convenient access to local roads and several highways, nearby local restaurants and gas stations (Cracker Barrel, Sheetz, etc.) - yet it’s a very peaceful location. Separate lower firepit area with small "pub shed" is neat! Guests may get a chance to peek inside. A fun social space, nicely designed. Your stay here will be comfortable, safe and quiet with everything you could need. Chet and Carole are super hosts! They interact as little - or as much - as you want. Highly recommend!!

Great experience
We really enjoyed our stay. I was impressed that it was warm when we entered the house despite being a fairly large older building. The laundry room is huge. Very nice having a half bath on the first floor in addition to full bath upstairs. Chet and Carole also provided a basket of snacks and coffee/tea selection for the Keurig. The stairs to the bedroom are a little steep and there's no rail on one side which could be a challenge for small children or seniors. It was also nice having good sized TVs in both bedrooms as well as the living room. Having an extra room in addition to the bedrooms upstairs was great too! Chet was very friendly and helpful when we communicated with him as well. The dishwasher hooks up to the kitchen sink (isn't plumbed in), but thankfully Chet said he'd take care of it after we checked out. Overall a great experience!

Amazing time at a cozy place
We loved this property so much! It had everything we needed. Super cozy. We cooked dinner, played board games, watched movies, and enjoyed driving into Pittsburg. Community was very quiet and this location was everything we could hope for!

Great place to stay!
Great place to stay. The house is spacious and is well furnished. It has a cozy, warm feeling. The bedroom are huge and a TV in every room. The kitchen is well equipped and has a great coffee pod machine! Parking is right next to the kitchen door. AC and gas furnace made the house comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

MOVIE SET
Absolutely Adorable Old School House that belongs in a movie set for a College Girls Reunion. The place is so charming in a quiet setting yet close to interstate highways for easy access. The home is roomy, with carefully thought out arrangement of the rooms and furnishing. Chet's housekeeper does an excellent job, coming from a former chambermaid point of view. It is very clean. We felt very safe. The Air Conditioner and Heating were both needed on our visit and worked wonderfully. The Kitchen and Bathrooms were well stocked with anything you might need or may have forgotten. There is a large full size laundry room in case you would need. The dressing room on the 2nd floor between bedrooms was perfect and even included an ironing board and makeup vanity. Four ladies stayed with plenty of room to have our own space. The beds and pillows are awesome and provided a restful nights sleep. Ample amount of towels and linens. It was a little chilly for the outdoor pub but it is an amazing outdoor space. Chet kept us well-informed of checkin and checkout procedures. He made us feel like we were staying at an old friend's home...very welcoming host. Chet "leaves the light on." ✨️ A Golden VRBO ✨️

Great place with a Great host!
I can't say enough good things about our stay, the host, the location and the property. The place was exceptionally clean (built in 1879) and super easy to find off the main roads. Quick and convenient to New Stanton and Youngwood if you need food, groceries or personal items of any nature. My wife and I came for a long weekend to attend a wedding, which was fun too :). The location is near to many attractions in the Laurel Highlands area of PA, we enjoyed a Frank Lloyd Wright site, a MUST do if you're in the area. If you're there during the weekend you can also enjoy a nice warming fire in the "fire pit area" and even a cold beverage from the "Pub Shed" as it's called, great time! Our host was exceptional, his knowledge of the area and the property going way back was very interesting to learn about. If you needed anything they were always there, we only needed a forgotten nail clipper one day, but they helped us acquire one. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is travelling through the area for a few days or interested in visiting some of the many sites in this area of Pennsylvania, it is close to many beautiful places. Last but not least, there is a very nice winery less than a 5 minutes' drive from the Schoolhouse. Good wine and music at certain times.

Great Property
Loved the property in spite of the ongoing renovations. We especially loved the upstairs dressing room - what a great idea!! The property was everything we could have asked for and more thanks to the owners who have thought of everything one might need. We would definitely stay here again and again.

Comfortable, Clean, Welcoming Property
This is a truly unique place located near all the main roads in SW Pennsylvania. To begin with, the building started life as a two-story high, brick & mortar one-room schoolhouse in 1876. (The older I get, the more I appreciate the accomplishments of people from generations ago!) Later converted to two floors inside, the current owner and host has done a great job of making the interior beautiful while maintaining the schoolhouse appearance on the exterior. As for the interior, it's comfortable, very clean, and has everything one needs. I've stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and I have not seen one as well stocked as this one. Great place to stay!

college friends get away
We were looking for a gathering place for 4 college women to get together to relax and unwind as well as catch up on each other's lives without spending a fortune. This 2 bed room converted school house has good character. It is still in the process of being remodeled, but fully functional. We spent most of our time sitting around the kitchen table sharing meals and having wine or in the back yard table having coffee and the enjoying the sunshine. To our surprise, Chet convinced us to try Karaoke Friday night and we all started singing and dancing in his pub area. Good times for sure. We visited a local winery, 2 parks for hiking and went out to a local church. This was a nice, quiet place to gather. Chet went above and beyond to bring an extra twin bed into one of the bedrooms so we each had our own sleeping space. This was very much appreciated. I am not sure if we would be back in the New Stanton area, but if we did, we would visit again.

Birthday getaway weekend
Chet was wonderful to work with! He was very responsive and helpful! The house is very nice, especially the newly renovated upstairs bedrooms, full bath and dressing room. The kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals! The water and snacks provided were great to take hiking at Ohio Pyle. We really hope to come back in the summer and use the outdoor fire area. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location!
We were planning to stay 8 days and visit family and friends in the area and the location near so many major highways was perfect for us. We were provided with everything we needed even snacks and water. We especially enjoyed the serenity of the swing with our cocktail in the afternoon. Highly recommend!!

Great Place to Stay
The charm of staying in an old remodeled school house with updated features.. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.. Chet and Carole went above and beyond in making our stay pleasurable. They were easy to get a hold of and made themselves available to help with any questions. The fire pit was a big draw. Chet went out of his way to start a fire for us to enjoy, along with an alcoholic beverage of choice. We would definitely recommend their home to others!

cozy cute and very clean this is the place.
If you’re looking for something clean neat and charming this is the place to go. Lots of room with many extras. There were K cups provided along with sugar, water in the fridge, pots and pans. They were even chargers in the master bedroom to charge phones. There is a pub shed with barstools and a karaoke machine. We had so much fun there. There is also an outdoor fire pit with chairs and lots of wood. The owner even sang karaoke with us and built us a fire. He is awesome and friendly! Definitely coming back there very soon.

Description is accurate. Two nice bedrooms, bathroom and a large walk-in closet with make-up mirror on upper floor and on the first floor is a nice kitchen, 1/2 bath and living room. Although still undergoing remodeling, the place was impeccably clean and our hosts were good communicators. Will definitely stay here again if available on our next trip to visit family in the area.

A Place to Call Home
My siblings + a sibling's wife enjoyed our stay in the Old Farm House. It was comfortable enough for the four of us for the short stay we were there. The owner was extremely helpful and I would definitely stay again. He took several of our suggestions to heart and accommodated us with anything we needed.

Wonderful experience ,very peaceful, beds are comfy, hot water never runs out (tankless)🙂 very clean , this old school house is very relaxing they have done alot of work renovating and it has a very calming relaxing atmosphere .. chet and carol are both wonderful & friendly, this is a must visit ! country feeling and several towns are Just a short drive away is .. lots of extras,....such as soaps, snacks, waters in fridge kitchen is fully Equipped Even a Kurig 😆..Chet even had free time to build us a wonderful fire pit, we listened to music and enjoyed one evening of our visit , local pub with excellent food less than five min away, I could go on and on we give this vrbo a (A+) Recommend 100% we enjoyed our visit ty chet and Carol....

Feels like home
We absolutely loved our stay at this property! It's in a nice neighborhood with easy access to the interstate and neighboring towns. It was clean and roomy and felt like home. Our host was so friendly and helpful and the hospitality was wonderful! From the suggestions of things to do and see, menus for local restaurants and brochures, water and condiments in the fridge and the well stocked snack basket ( including treats for our kitty whom they graciously allowed us to bring with us.)the little touches impressed us. I can't begin to explain how welcome and at home we felt here. We highly recommend this property and hope to be back again when we are in the area!

I enjoyed my stay. The hosts, Carol and Chet, were very communicative and welcoming, providing me with phone numbers where I could reach them at anytime. As stated in the listing, the bottom floor had not been fully updated but it was comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the old farmhouse feel of the lower floor. The bedrooms on the second floor were updated nicely and there was a very large dressing room and closet. The yard was great for my two dogs with a fenced in area available. Although I didn’t get the chance to use it, the yard had a beautiful, large fire pit. Next time! There was beer, coffee and bottled water available to me on my arrival which was a pleasant surprise.
