I arrived at at 11:00 PM from Europe to discover that this hotel which had taken by $1,000 reservations months ago no longer exists. I had received no warning or refund. There were just some security at the door saying this a shelter now as a couple months ago and a bunch of drugged out people yammering outside. I had to stressfully find a place at the last second for me and my family to stay at the last minute and pay a higher rate. I contacted Expedia for a refund and additional compensation a week ago, and I have not received anything yet. Apparently Expedia cannot be depended upon to fulfill its basic function of ensuring a property actually exists. If I am not recompensed soon with interest for the stress, safety concerns, and inconvenience, I will not ever use this app again and will embark on a campaign of revenge airing out this to everyone I know as well as news outlets, travel blogs, etc. Get it together.

I like that the staff is very helpful n polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Only gripe is how small the room itself was. Also the walls is thin so all the noise from other occupied rooms is clear n crisp. It was clean, limited amount of towels n face clothes( booked for 2 people).

Don’t book a stay here. The property converted to a homeless shelter and failed to tell people who booked nights at the property. When you show up they have a sign in the front telling you to find somewhere else to stay.

Hotel is a Shelter / Lying Staff
We didn't get to stay at this hotel because it was turned into a shelter. We were never told about this before our trip and the man at the front desk said our reservation was transferred to a Holiday Inn down the road. When we went to the Holiday Inn we found out this was a lie. I will never book with this hotel again.

Arrived at the hotel only to find out that it’s been closed for over 3 weeks. There was no email or refund prior to my trip. When I called Hotels.com there was very little they did to keep me from being stranded in NYC alone. They even tried to re-book me in a rundown hotel, in an unsafe area in a hotel with super low ratings overall. The entire experience was a fiasco

The hotel was closed without notice other than a letter posted on the front door that it had closed May 22nd. We had to rebook standing in front of the place for like an hour.

This hotel is now being used for a Shelter. I found this out when attempting to check in for my stay. If you book through a 3rd party vendor, the hotel does not notify you of this. They also have no other accommodations for guests who previously had bookings - they will tell you your reservation transferred to the Holiday Inn 3 blocks away but the Holiday Inn denies this. So if you are booked to stay here in the near future, please check!

While other traveler reviews mentioned this, the online description didn't mention that the the first floor off the hotel lobby is a club beginning in the afternoon until 2am many nights. The accompanying loud bass noise made it difficult to sleep. Also, the stairwells and elevator did not require a hotel room key to access and the room floors did not have obvious cameras. These are basic security measures for most hotels. That aside, the staff was friendly and the room I had was nice.

Luckily, Holiday Inn Express had an extra room for me to stay this holiday weekend, otherwise I would have been stranded. RL Brooklyn closed permanently and did not even let me know - I found out when I tried to check in. Expedia did not help in any way.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. My flight was delayed on the way to New York, so I didn't arrive until 3am. Even though check-in ends at 2am, they made sure I still had a room when I arrived, then they gave me an extra late check-out (12:30pm). Would definitely stay here again.

The pictures online look nothing like reality. There’s is no restaurant in the hotel. That had been turned into a nightclub. I heard and felt every beat of the music all night long. The room was fine although pillows are super hard. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom. I had booked and paid for two nights. I checked out early and moved to a different hotel to get some sleep.

Sorry it's a long one. Firstly, I will start with the positives. Although I'm not sure of any names but who I presume is the manager on duty Friday 5th May was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Also, there were 3 men we encountered throughout the stay and a cleaning lady on the last day who were really lovely! Literally the only 3 with any idea about customer service. Also, we found the beds very comfy, and the shower was great. Additionally, the area looks a little dodgy but it’s better than you think it’s going to be, and we didn't feel unsafe. Although this might be because we live in London so used to it. Additionally, the transport links into Manhattan are great! That’s about it.... Onto the negatives... after travelling from London to Brooklyn on a reservation we made roughly 6 months out we were flippantly told that there wasn't a reservation for us although we had done everything correct on our side. They have been experiencing problems with interface between 3rd party booking agents. They tried to find us a room at their sister hotel located 2 blocks away. However, as we were staying for 7 nights, they were unable to accommodate and then somehow, they managed to find us a room in the hotel. Due to the system error the booking had to be manually inputted, which was done incorrectly. I was over charged by around $350. Thankfully, I receive notifications so was alerted immediately and the refund was processed. Unfortunately, the account wasn't reconciled pro

Overall it was a great stay, very clean and friendly staff. Club music could be heard from our room, it was muffled, didn't really bother us, but for light sleepers, might want to go to a higher floor. Security procedures are in place to make sure only guests enter the hotel lobby, great practice

Mynstay was awful due to a very intoxicated guest with mental health issues across the hall. 930pm thru 3am the guest was yelling, throwing things at walls, trying to get into other guests rooms, including mine. After 2nd police visit they came again with medics to trandport him to hospital for evaluation. The staff was amazing and beyond helpful.

The staff was friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable and everything worked as it should. They only have on street parking but for us it was not much of an issue amd we found parking fairly close by. The neighborhood is kinda of scary but the hotel was nice.

Scary neighborhood. No parking. Nowhere to eat. Unbearably loud hip hop bar next door. Coffee not kept up. Shower flooded the bathroom. Room was nice. Clean and neat. plenty of hot water and acceptable water pressure. Bed and pillows comfortable. USB ports in my room not working. Great air conditioner. Nice TV with direct TV.

We were not there very long. We had booked three nights stay, but when we arrived, we realized that the restaurant/hotel bar, was actually a nightclub that was separate from the hotel and the rooms sit right on top of it. It was very loud. It was open until 2 AM on a Thursday night and I’m sure later on the weekend. I think the pictures and description were more than a bit deceiving. So we booked a new hotel and left. They did refund me for the second two nights but not that first night.

We highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are small as they accurately described, but they are very efficiently arranged and clean and fresh. The employees are amazingly friendly and helpful. Dexter & Charles were very helpful at check in. James and Daisha were super accommodating. Our housekeeper Lourdes was extremely attentive to our needs. The merchants around the hotel were very friendly and helpful (pizza parlors and bodegas). We Uber'd everywhere and it was very convenient. We really appreciate the great service provided during our 5 day stay. Thank you! We'll be back.

Nice but no shower privacy and loud party noise
Everyone working at the hotel was very nice and helpful. I noted that the Hotel was not comfortable. It was clean and had a decent design but my 18 daughter and I stayed there and found it offered NO privacy to the bathroom shower which had a clear floor-to-ceiling glass panel that faced the inside of the whole room. Maybe fine for a couple maybe but probably not for a family or friends. We thought it odd for a room with two beds. Also, we were there for a Saturday and Sunday night and stayed on the third floor. The whole room was blasted to 2 am with music from the ground floor bar. Maybe ok if you are partying but not if you want to use the room to do much of anything else.

The RL hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. We visited over night for the NY half marathon run. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, everything was in walking distance. Easy, and close access to the train. The room was very clean with extra towels, and wash cloths. There was a bar with indoor, and outdoor smoking area. Also, the hotel had the Tank & Ryan fight for us to watch free of charge. Lastly, the day bed in the room was perfect for my son.

This property is great if you are from New York just looking to get some time away, they have a beautiful lounge downstairs, the hotel is pretty quiet despite the train that services right across & also the bar downstairs. Though if you aren’t from New York i wouldn’t Recommend because of the neighborhood. Since i am from New York i know what it’s like but for you it may feel uncomfortable
