I had a fantastic stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and perfect for my needs. Management was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout. Highly recommend!
We needed a place that was convenient to commute to see family in Manhattan, and this fit the bill. However, we had some trouble with the door lock, and the floor had to be wiped down by us before we could walk around in sock feet or barefoot. The neighborhood is generally safe, but there tended to be someone loitering near the doorway each night. The bed is comfortable, and the shower was clean and adequate.
Great location, very clean. A lot of local restaurants close by. Located a block up from a grocery store and the subway. Citbikes right outside if you prefer to bike around instead of take the subway. Saved this location to my favs.
All went very well with this stay. There were a few minor communication issues. The property had more than we expected, for example, keurig coffee, peanuts, microwave, stove, full size refrigerator-freezer, large kitchen sink and utensils.
Location was very good. Near subway station. However terrible things were 1)the manager was dishonest. He promised to payback the money for cleaning which was not done when extended stay. I emailed him again and again but no reply after checked out. This is fraud. 2)there was no explanation about property of the laundry. It is not installed in the room. The manager insisted it meant the laundry service outside by his worker. It should have been explained on the site clearly. I do not care about the custom in NY. Also no explanation about the costs for the laundry. It was too expensive. Tip for his worker? No way! If he explained before we used nearby laundromat. This Vrbo site is also not good because of poor explanation on the site. 3)communication was not good. The manager and his worker did not pick up phone at first call. Text communication was required. It was pain. No quick response back when urgent. Location was good. However be careful about dishonest manager and not smooth communication with the manager and his worker. Also laundry is not installed at the room. Do not use laundry service because of too expensive costs including too much tip.
My experience with this Vrbo was awful. The host was nearly impossible to reach and only answered after my mother called from a different number — claiming they thought I was a scammer, even though I called from my registered number.Just hours before check-in, they told me I’d been moved to a basement unit due to plumbing issues — something they never mentioned earlier. This new location had no city views, which was a big reason I booked the original place.Getting from the airport was a mess. Plans were made only an hour before my flight, the driver didn’t speak English, was clearly upset about driving me, and later demanded payment through an app we were never told about. The unit was disgusting — wrappers and zip ties in the cabinets, holes and missing tiles in the floor, dirty walls, and two doors leading to other parts of the building, including one directly into the bedroom, with no way to lock them from my side.Noise from upstairs and loud plumbing kept me up all night. When I ordered food, it was delivered to the wrong entrance and stolen within minutes. The host’s only solution was to check the cameras — which felt pointless. This trip was a nightmare. I feel lied to, used, and emotionally drained. The money I wasted on this booking will never be made up, and I honestly never want to return to New York.
