Good location and property for the price...
Overall, the property itself is fine. There is construction right in front of the property so it makes it seem darker. It also takes away space in front of the hotel which is small to begin with. Small lobby on one side where you check-in which all of the staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. There is a larger lobby area by the elevators but there were too many Time-Share Sales people which made it a little congested at most times during the day. They take up a lot of space right in front of the elevator.
Got to my room and the perfume fragrances that they spray was much too much. I had to open the window throughout our stay to be able to breathe. If you have any allergies towards perfumes or fresheners, please be prepared... There was also a cart for linen or something that was in our hallway throughout our visit, and since the hallways are narrow it was in the way.
A couple of our pillowcases were soiled, and in fact one pillow had a slight smoke odor even though this is a non-smoking property.
There is a laundry room on the 3rd floor and I was pleasantly surprised that it is free. There is also a small workout room on the 3rd floor.
All-in-all the location is good. Close to Grand Central Station and subway access, lots of restaurants within a few blocks, and convenience stores right around the corner.
