Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
We arrived to find no toilet paper and no lightbulbs. The only pot had no handle, making even basic use difficult. There was also a constant hum or weird vibration in the floor and a homeless person sleeping outside of the basement entrance, outside of the window one flight downAt first, we thought it might be acceptable for the affordable price given the good location, and were willing to overlook some issues.However, the heat system later malfunctioned and the apartment reached above 90 degrees. We endured one night but had to leave. My husband is 84, and we were concerned for his health.When we contacted the host, we were told to open the windows—but they are sealed shut. The air conditioning is very small and completely inadequate, even for normal summer use.A building resident told us this issue has happened before and can take days to fix and that the building is in terrible disrepair.The most concerning part was the refusal to refund the two nights—one spent in extreme heat and the other after we were forced to relocate. We have reported this to VRBO and are disputing the charge with American Express.Very disappointing experience—be warned.
