The Sunshine Shack is a 3 bedroom 1 bath ranch house. It is on a nice quiet 2 acre lot that is conveniently located to all the amenities of town without the traffic. It has a little of everything to suit 4 seasons of fun. There is a fire pit in the back yard, a playground/park across the street and a 2 stall garage to park your toys in. Snowmobile, 4 wheel, kayak, fish, hike, hunt or explore. The house is located on a legal to run road and is easily accessible from the snowmobile trail which is located .4 of a mile away to both the north and south. It also is the designated ORV route through town and has easy access to fuel.

I rented the Sunshine Shack for a long weekend of introducing my 2 exchange students to one of my favorite parts of the USA. It was exactly what I expected: comfortable, clean, and easy to find. The kids enjoyed our evening campfire, playing pool, and Hedbandz. The nearby IGA was convenient for picking up the few items we forgot to bring. Tahquemenon Falls was an easy daytrip, as were Pictured Rocks and Marquette.

Our family had a great time staying at the sunshine shack! Lots of room, never felt like we were on top of each other. The basement game area was great for our teens and adults. Extra fridge in the garage made storing everyone’s food simple. The park across the street was great for the younger kids and a family game of kickball. Just one wish would be for a second bathroom but did not ruin our stay at all. We would definitely stay again!

Set up nice for snowmobiling. Really appreciated the use of the garage for our sleds. Plenty of parking for our trailers. House was clean and comfortable.

Very clean home with lots of room!

We stayed this past weekend and had a good time here. The back yard was perfect for my 2 youngest kids to run and play, and great for bon fires...they even supplied wood! Great time, conveniently located.

Eastern UP quick trip!

This served as a great home base for our 3 adult and 4 kids party. The yard is HUGE and secluded and just what they needed to run around. Clean, plenty of space, and great location for excursions in the area!

Newberry 2024

Very nice and clean with everything we needed for our stay. Perhaps update the television, but we really weren't there for that. Over all, there is plenty of room for our visit with family in the area.

The Sunshine Shack is our favorite place to stay when we visit the UP. Comfortable and well equipped! Close to restaurants and grocery stores and centrally located (not necessarily close) to our favorite rock hunting beaches on Lake Superior.

Beautiful vacation home

House was clean and in a great location close to the city for groceries. All of the upper peninsula attractions close by. The yard was beautiful with a great fire pit. Perfecr vacation home for a family getaway. Pool table for the teens, board games and park close by for the younger ones. Wouldnt stay anywhere else in the UP.

Nice long weekend!

My husband and I stayed at the property for a long weekend amd really enjoyed it! The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable! We used it as a base to travel to the falls and pictured rocks. Our intention was to snowshoe and found some snow over by the falls since its been a crazy Michigan winter this year. Great house and would stay again!

Great location for all the things we wanted to do and had a garage to store our bikes. Really enjoyed the AC on a hot day. Plus access to the washer and dryer was very handy. And we really appreciated how quiet it was at night.

UP getaway

This house worked very well for our family of 5. We used the fire pit and charcoal grill which worked great. It was a good location for Taquamenon falls and pictured rocks. It was clean. The beds were ok, a little hard for my taste. Made for a great getaway
