"Staff are friendly and accommodating every need for the weary traveler. Room was clean, cozy and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The lobby is warm and inviting. The continental breakfast offered was good. Clare the cat was also a friendly addition to the stay. The Common Man Restaurant meal(s) were delicious and the portions were filling. I will definitely stay there again."

"Great location, great potential. The pool is COLD, which is too bad. We have 3 children who love swimming. The playroom for children got locked and none to unlock it, until next day we asked the only part-time employee who cleans the rooms to unlock it. The property has great potential. A bit more attention to these details and it would be perfect. Pool temperature is important. Make it comfortable."

"The room was clean and the staff were helpful and accommodating of our delayed flight that lead to delayed check in. I couldn’t get a hold of the property directly to let them know of this issue but Expedia reached them very quickly and was very helpful. Very appreciative of the property working with our late arrival. I believe my room was less used but my partners had extra blankets/pillows and some welcome candies. Rooms a bit humid but I had a comfortable sleep and it was great having a fridge and microwave amenities. The property outlines their procedures for check out in the other rooms (but not in mine) but appreciated."

"The person that checked us in was wonderful but there was two other employees that were rather off putting. One person was flat out rude and another was very sparky. We ordered a pizza that said it was delivered and when it wasnt at our door we went down to ask and the male at the desk basically told my husband that he should know that the delivery people take it to the room. There was no need for the attitude. But otherwise the stay was okay. Being that there are limited hotels in the area the price, location, and amenities were what we wanted."

"First, the service was amazing. The afternoon/evening front desk gentlemen was extremely kind and helpful as we navigated an issue with the room we were originally given (that turned out to not be an issue so won’t bother mentioning). The rooms were slightly dated but clean and well maintained. The only downside of the room was the carpet - it wasn’t awful but was old and a bit musty. We are very sensitive to smells and allergens so others may not notice. That said it didn’t affect our allergies too much so it wasn’t that bad. Room comes with basic cooking equipment, plates and silverware. The room we got was a two bedroom but the queen bedroom doesn’t have a door that closes - it’s a separate room but is open to the living room/kitchen. This wasn’t an issue for us but worth noting for others. Beds were clean and looked new but weren’t the nicest mattresses. Same with the pillows. We did go to the indoor pools - it was pretty well maintained. They had locker rooms and a dry sauna but we didn’t use either. Continental breakfast was as you’d expect. Nothing hot was served but lots of options - including a whole gluten free section which you NEVER see at hotels and I great appreciated. The hotel was nice and the staff great but it definitely had “we were a reeeallly nice hotel before the pandemic and then we lost a lot of our extras” vibes. They used to have a spa, a bar, an outdoor pool and a restaurant but those are all gone. It was fine as is though."

Breathtaking Newbury Cottage w/ Deck on Chalk Pond

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin on Chalk Pond in Newbury. Five stars across the board.The cabin was exceptionally clean, modern, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing New Hampshire getaway. The space feels thoughtfully designed and well maintained, while still having that peaceful lake-cabin atmosphere we were hoping for.The location on Chalk Pond was easily one of the highlights. It’s a beautiful, quiet setting that makes it very easy to slow down and enjoy being outside. Having kayaks available was a huge bonus. We loved being able to walk right down to the water, get out on the pond, and enjoy the scenery. The property really makes the most of lake life without feeling overly busy or crowded.Everything about our stay was easy and accommodating, and the cabin was a great home base for exploring the Newbury/Lake Sunapee area while still being somewhere we were happy to simply stay and relax for the day.If you're looking for a clean, modern, peaceful place to unwind and enjoy everything that a New Hampshire lake vacation has to offer, this is an excellent choice. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!"
