Beach getaway
I stayed two nights at Plovers Nest for an end of summer beach getaway. It was the cutest little house, with all the things I could need to make my stay perfect. I really enjoyed the location, the overall setup of the house and how close it was to downtown Newburyport. Overall I had a great stay!
Plovers Nest was a great place to stay. The space is very small, but stocked with the essentials. Comfortable bed- stayed during winter but could imagine that the decks and access to the water in the summer would be idyllic.
Property fit our needs perfectly. Home was on the end of the island and served as a great weekend reprieve. Easy access to Newburry Port, and not far from restaurants and bars on Plum Island. Would definitely return.
My husband and I had a great stay on Plum Island. This is a wonderful cozy retreat. The house was as listed, with all of the accoutrements we expected/needed. Check in and check out were super easy. We hope to stay again!
This is the perfect little getaway home. Beautiful natural light, great location at the tip of the island. Quiet and the ocean was all around. Thank you!
The property was true to the write up. It was well located, close to the beaches. Downtown Newburyport was a quick drive. We also drove to Rockport during our trip, about 45 minutes away, passing through Ipswich on the way.
Plover’s Nest was a true delight. The cottage is charming, modern, clean, and well appointed in a desirable area very close to the beach and downtown Newburyport’s restaurants, bars, and shops. The cottage itself was so cute that we didn’t want to leave to venture out. We look forward to returning to Plover’s Nest.
Great location, very clean, can bike to the beaches, and there are at least two beach restaurants at the end of the street. Close to Newburyport as well. Hope they get those curtains in on the second floor fixed and there is a vent outside the upstairs bathroom (outside) that needs a hood replaced or it makes noise on a windy night. Such small things true my, and it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again!!!

A great place!
My wife and I spent two nights at Plover’s Nest and it did not disappoint. Everything inside and out was brand new and super clean. The short walk to the beach for the gorgeous sunset was one of our many highlights. We also enjoyed the nearby shops and restaurants on PI and everything that the town Newburyport had to offer. We would absolutely recommend Plovers Nest to any couple wanting a relaxing and comfortable getaway.
Plovers nest is a great little getaway cottage for a couple. The property was very well designed, and makes great use of all the space available. The location is great for anyone interested in exploring the coast, Newburyport, Boston, or any of the numerous surrounding small towns.
The hosts are very organized, and provided an extensive welcome message, with tons if info about the property, as well as the surrounding area.
The property is beautiful, clean, extremely well maintained. We would love to book again next time we are in the area.
Loved this place. Great location and it was a very quiet space (though I did go and off-season at the beginning of May). Stove and microwave took some getting used to, and I didn’t use the oven, but the kitchen was great. It’s a small space, and the loft is open to the living area so it’s best for a couple that goes to bed at the same time or someone traveling solo. Wish they had a fire pit, but the space was great.
This stay was just the right thing for a short getaway with my husband. It was very clean. The house is beautifully laid out. (But definitely most comfortable as a two person rental) All the windows are a wonderful touch. The sea breeze was amazing. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. My husband ranks it at the top of our vacation rentals. We would definitely stay here again.
Everything about our August 1-6th stay at lovely “Plover’s Nest” was perfect! The home was gorgeously decorated, super-clean, and filled with all amenities we could possibly need! The loft bedroom welcomed both the sunrise and the sunset—so beautiful! The home was cozy, and yet spacious, for the 2 of us on a romantic getaway. We enjoyed the location as an ideal base for area exploration to the Plum Island beach, the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge at the other end of the island, and the lovely downtown Newburyport (great restaurants, shops, walkways along the water). We hope to return!
Thank you for a great stay!
Overall, we were really impressed with the location — it’s ideal for one couple traveling.Make sure to stop by Mad Martha’s, Lucy’s, and downtown Newburyport. We loved our dinners downtown, especially The Goat, where we enjoyed their Tuesday BOGO burgers and live music.
