10/10 Excellent
"Great location, walkable during day or night with lots of food choices nearby. I've stayed a few times and the rooms are always very clean! "

"Comfortable and posh. We’ll stay everytime we’re in town!"

Balboa Inn, On the Beach
4/10 Poor
"Staff was friendly. Rooms are tiny, in rough condition and very crowded with unnecessary items. "

Newport Beach Marriott Bayview
10/10 Excellent
"Very recommended!!"

Extended Stay America Suites Orange County John Wayne Airprt
6/10 Okay
"Room was tidy but floor was in need of a mop. We had babies so floor was important. Everything else was clean. Staff was great! "

Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was just beautiful with a very nice balcony. Staff, especially the valet guys could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The bar staff and restaurant staff were also outstanding. We will be back!"

Solarena
6/10 Okay
"The air conditioning took a long time to cool the room, and the lighting throughout the space was poor. With no true blackout blinds, the room stayed in an odd, dim mood that never felt comfortable.
The bed was the biggest disappointment: extremely low to the ground, overly soft, and difficult to get out of. The comforter was also washed incorrectly, resulting in noticeable pilling.
The bathroom was a good size and included a tub, but the toilet had a strange scent handle that I kept accidentally grabbing.
I booked this room specifically because the listing advertised “luxury amenities.” At the same time, the bottles were once luxury products, Davines. They are clearly refilled with inexpensive, non‑professional products. The shampoo was bright orange, and didnt smell at all, and that's not Davines shampoo. For someone with a lot of hair, this is a dealbreaker. The lotion and countertop items were also basic motel products, not luxury.
The pool area looked nice, though we didn’t use it. I didn’t see an outdoor shower, which would be a valuable addition, ideally one near the entrance as well.
The flooring color is attractive, but it becomes extremely slippery when you walk in with sand on your shoes.
The hotel was very quiet, which I appreciated. They are currently building another small hotel right next door. It’s clear"

Newport Beach Hotel, A Four Sisters Inn
8/10 Good
"All was good. Best location. The only problem with this hotel is their limited parking. I thought I had done everything possible to secure a parking spot with the hotel, but could not. There is paid parking all around the hotel but it fills up pretty quick. I had to park pretty far away."

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Loved our stay at Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel. Such a lovely property in an idyllic location, steps from the beach and many restaurants.
Rooms are renovated and have so many wonderful touches from the terry cloth robes to the beach bags with frizbees and towels. We borrowed an umbrella and chairs to take for our beach day too. They also had cute bikes you could borrow as well! Would definitely stay again! "
