"Nice spacious unit with everything you need. The TV was small and just free to air stations but I believe they are in the middle of upgrading TVs to all room. The motel apparently has spectacular views to Mt Taranaki but unfortunately there was too much fog and cloud during my visit to see it. Would definitely stay again if visiting Hawera"

"Where do I start? From our first contact with Iliya, everything just kept getting better. Wonderful hosts, spectacularly amazing house with unique architecture! The space itself is lovely, warm and really feels comfortable for everyone from our 3 year old to the older adults! We loved that there is a dedicated prayer room on the top floor… the beautiful windows revealing the surrounds, including Mount Taranaki made the space perfect for contemplation. We also loved the small details, including the inclusion of hose bidets in the bathroom. This is very helpful and inclusive of Eastern cultures where washing is the norm! As for the scenery… on one side is the beautiful west coast of New Zealand, with amazing sunsets and on the other is Mount Taranaki in all its majesty. As for nights, the lack of light in the surrounds of the property allows for perfect observation of the night sky and the stars. A must indeed if you are staying… just step out, and look up!!! We were also very lucky to be greeted by the beautiful horses of the neighbouring property who kept visiting us at the fence and seemed very approachable. The neighbours are also very lovely and keen for a good chat on a quiet day. Overall, this has been our best stay away from home - it’s private, it’s serene, it’s beautiful. We can’t wait to be back. Thank you Iliya for making this possible and looking forward to come back in the future!"

"Absolutely stunning views of Mt. Taranaki! Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Basecamp. Great communication with host, very clean and had everything we needed. Our boys loved the basketball hoop and game garage. Easy check in and check out. 12 mins from gorgeous hiking trails.Everything was as pictured, but even more stunning in person. Thank you for such a warm welcome and comfortable stay! 10 out of 10!!"
