"Staff was terriffic, room was clean, property was great - only reasons for 4 vs. 5 stars: There was still a good deal of construction and noise happening, because of the earthquake recovery efforts. (Some drilling/grinding upstairs from my room, and chiseling and hammering for installation of new pavers by the pool) but to be expected given the situation when only 17 of 100+ rooms are in operation! Also, the front approach/sign could have used a bit of cleaning/pressure washing and the breakfast buffet lacked sliced cheese (only cubed brie - difficult to make a sandwich with, and I'm a damn Yankee who likes his breakfast sandwiches!) 😁
The staff were always on-point, the welcome was great and the front-of-house manager was very professional and personable - and keen to share many property details. My nitpick with him: after the time he said he'd spent in Vanuatu (3 years) it would have been nice for him to functionally speak some Bislama - especially with so many locals under him.
Overall, a reasonable value/stay in post-quake Port Vila. "
"Quiet place, no need for a private pool! Even my bungalow next to the road (#20) was peaceful, and all three small resort pools were empty, cool, and surrounded by plants. Staff is available and not overly-solicitous. Feasible walk to large grocery store in town. Loved their attention to eco-friendly measures where possible. Not flood-lit at night, so you can see the stars & the moonlight shimmering in the lagoon. Walk up to their sister resort, undergoing renovations, to use the glorious infinity pool there. No-fuss transfer to & from the airport, charged to room & paid before checkout by credit card. Welcome to stay on premises by the pool or in the restaurant ahead of flight. WiFi was particular to your room and choppy as you moved around the grounds, but usable with a bit of patience. Would return & happily bring friends!"
"Lovely large bungalow, well equipped. Gorgeous breakfast area with stunning view of the lagoon. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent stay."
"Everything was fabulous. Location amazing, room had everything we needed, pool was beautiful & all the staff were so friendly & helpful. Highly recommend staying at Kaiviti Motel. "
"Wonderful location, amazing coral reef on your doorstep with free gear to use. Caroline and Damian do an amazing job - they’re friendly and always so helpful as are the amazing staff with their big smiles! Birdies restaurant poolside was delicious, fresh and great servings.
For a family looking to keep the food budget under control I’d recommend stocking up on basics from the supermarket including a few local Tusker beers (hire a care or book a driver to get around). The comfortable and well appointed bungalows have a full kitchen so quick breakfasts, lunches/snacks etc are easy to prepare yourself.
Great Christmas for our family of 5 enjoying ‘island time’! "
"Terrific stay! The resort grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are spacious, with a comfortable bed. The staff is amazing, from transfers and reception to the restaurant and tours. The food is delicious. Highly recommend!"
