Fantastic
New owners since my last stay but improvements being made. Better wifi, unbelievably delicious breakfast. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Location perfect for all transport and access to waterfront.

The place is really nice. Everything is clean and the owners are very friendly. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is that breakfast was 18€ per person. Price was not visible and it wasn't worth that amount of money.

Not a good experience.
I struggle to review this property as we did not have a great service experience. The female host is rude and not service oriented. Upon arrival and 2:50 PM, we tried to check-in after a long drive to get there, she informed us that we needed to come back as check-in was at 3:00 PM and our room was not ready. While I completely understand that we arrived 10 minutes early, she could have simply asked us to wait in the lobby or terrace for that time instead of turning us away. The lobby of the property is lovely with a terrace and bar area with a view. This is pretty much the only nice area of this tired property. The rooms are small and sparsely decorated. As a guest, you are not allowed to use this area unless you are purchasing drinks or food items from the host. She was extremely focused on money and purchasing everything from her. She hangs out in that area and talks about all of her "homemade goods" that are available for purchase. Breakfast, drinks and apparently some snacks. There is no menu for food items, so you really have no idea what is available. The second night we were there, we were extremely tired from touring all day and didn't want to eat out at a restaurant. We picked up a small pizza and went to sit on the terrace to eat it as there was a notice in our room to not eat any food in the rooms. She approached us and told us we couldn't eat there because she makes some "salads" for purchase. There was no menu or indication of this. She embarred us.

Dear Patricia,I am stunned by your comment which is dishonest and very unfair.You arrived earlier than check-in time, and I informed you that unfortunately it was not before 3 p.m. because I would like to complete the formalities at the same time as handing over the keys to your room, however I will not have never refused access to our lounges.You have benefited from a double sea room of 18m², which is decorated (but perhaps not to your taste, this is possible).As for the reception room which is also the bar area, it is obvious that the only consumption authorized is that of the establishment and not that of outside that you have purchased. You simply did not appreciate that one evening, when you came back with a pizza, and sat on the terrace, I informed you that you could not dine here, given that I was serving customers who had reservations, dinner.When you go to a restaurant, do you bring your own food?You yourself noticed and saw that I took care of everyone, both at the bar, at reception, in the rooms... so if for you to be with all the customers and ensure that they have a pleasant stay is not the service, I wonder what you need? For your information, I have a lot of interest in all our guests, and that's why 95% love them and come back.In the future, avoid saying that your stay went well at check-out and hypocritical smiles. Such a beautiful property and run by an amazing and personable couple! Had the room with a sea view king bed and twin bed and it was very large and clean and the view was unbeatable. The location is great the parking was a huge plus! The brasserie and bakery near the hotel are amazing as well.

Gorgeous views, extremely clean, the owners make every effort to help and to make you have the best time, super kind and friendly. You can walk to the beach but through very winding road with a lot of steps to the town of Villefranche. Walking distance to a bakery and restaurants.not walking distance to Nice. Recommend this property for a perfect family trip stay or quiet relaxing time.

We stayed at this property for part of our honeymoon in May during the F1 Monaco weekend and we’re sooo happy we booked with them. I had contacted the owner in advance because I knew we would arrive early in the day and wanted to be sure we could at minimum drop our luggage while we went siteseeing. I was very relieved they responded quickly, and said they could accommodate the request. Even better when we arrived, they were able to check us in right away. We found the owners extremely kind and caring, ensuring we were well taken care of during our stay. They are knowledgeable about the area and helped us make the most of our short visit. We fell in love with Villefranche and will definitely be back to stay with them again. The views of the harbour from the hotel are spectacular and they serve a wonderful breakfast. We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this lovely little hotel! We were welcomed warmly by the owner and her staff. The pool was a huge hit with our kids. We had the BEST spritz of our entire vacation on the patio overlooking the sea! Spectacular! Will return.

A true family run hotel with amazing views. Perhaps it’s because there are only 15 rooms that I found the owners AND guests so friendly. Really good breakfast buffet enjoyed on the terrace each morning. Great value for money.. a surprise find & a lucky one for me. Little shops close by..patisserie, general store, brassiere etc. Can highly recommend.

The owners were very welcoming. They provided lots of information in regard to public transportation. On a day that we did a lot of walking, they made a special effort to turn on the jacuzzi.

Amazing views with a lovely pool.
Check in was good, however when we got to the room we found it musty and full of mosquitoes. Went to reception who was very helpful and contacted the boss to check if it was ok to move us to un other room ,which is what they did. Beautiful views from the hotel lovely swimming pool clean room and very helpful staff. My only criticism is that the rooms are a bit dated. However I would stay there again as the staff were lovely.

Ville de France location
Nice quiet location but convenient for public transport if you need it. Nice relaxation areas by pool and in grounds that most of the local hotels don't have due to limitation of space in resort area.

Huge distance from the beach, station, and town
The hotel itself was fine - not either great nor horrible. The rooms were clean, if basic, and amenities seemed suited for what you'd expect in a 2 star hotel. However the price, and the hotel is advertised as, a 3 star, which still isn't the end of the world. However, DO NOT book this hotel if you intend to easily get to the beach in Villefranche-Sur-Mer. Hotel La Fiancée Du Pirate is located 20 metres from the border with Nice (you can see the demarcation line from the front door of the hotel) and there is a 25-30 minute walk up and down a large hill between the beach & train station and the hotel. Finally, they seem to charge you extra for a 'seafront view'. As far as I can tell, because the hotel is situated on a hill, there are only rooms that are 'ocean facing', although again the ocean is quite a long way away from this hotel. I'd certainly not pay extra for this "view" in the future, and I'd be surprised if those who didn't pay this surcharge didn't get the same view. To sum it up: service was fine, room was fine, view was horrible, distance to the town was horrible. Wouldn't necessarily visit again.
