The hotel was well located in the busy Gion area. It was a calm and peaceful and well landscaped. The room cleaning was basic. They changed the towels and made the beds and took out the trash, nothing more. They informed me that the hotel nightly rate dropped but they couldn’t extend the discount. I felt like a lot of Kyoto was a money grab.

Property nestled in the heart of KIYOMIZU…leave a serene environment and walk out to a little hustle and bustle and some beautiful views …amazing property! Staff was friendly … Expedia notes pool access which is not accurate …no pool on property …

Our check it was easy and the room was very nice and most importantly, very clean! We loved the rooftop bar & restaurant- it was very nice to end our days up there with the amazing view! The 3rd floor lounge area was very nice to have - what a great surprise!
The staff were always very helpful also.
I can’t wait to return!
Only one negative…I wish the bar were open just a little earlier in the evening.
