I am originally from North Bergen. Lived here for over 30 years. This is a basement apt located in the uptown side of North Bergen. Historically this location has been very quiet and still is. This is a walking town, if you plan to stay in this area to visit 'the city' (what locals call New York City), then this is a great location for that. You do not need a car and I actually would recommend not getting one. Parking in this area, especially at night, is almost impossible. The pictures in this listing are identical to what you should expect of the apt. The entrance is in the back of the home (right hand side of driveway) with a door with a code. There are some steps to get down to the apt. and there are windows around both sides of the apt. There appears to have been some kind of leak in this apt, the bottom of both the office and bathroom doors are severely warped, there is also a slight smell of mold. The AC is very strong. Suggest walking to Dairy Cream, there is a bus stop to NYC at back of this ice cream stand (10 min walk). This is best way to NYC with views as well. Bus leaves you in Port Authority/Times Square. You can take Bergenline Ave bus as well, but will take longer. Highly recommend Cortaditos, Gilbertos, and Fenix Bakery (all Cuban restaurants/breakfast). Sheets were very clean, bed comfy. Also, needed to contact owner to get in, no self check-in it seems. Highly recommend this apt. Would be 5 stars if issues above would be resolved.
