"The location was great. The beach and boardwalk were outside our door. I felt safe. The hotel offered towels and chairs to use at the beach. My husband and I had a great time. There is a variety of restaurants and coffee shops close by. We do not need to rent a car. We used Lyft for transportation to other point of interests and airport."

Breathtaking Oceanfront Pacific Beach Home

"We loved the location. It is close to restaurants, shopping, and the boardwalk, about 10 minutes from La Jolla. Mornings on the patio listening to the ocean and watching surfers were a highlight, though it's a busy, shared beach access. Two paths lead down: about 70 steps or another roughly 40. The house was clean, with adequate kitchen equipment and plenty of towels and beach towels.This is not a standalone house, a 2-bedroom apartment sits above, plus a 1-bedroom apartment above the garage. We could hear the upstairs renters clearly, talking and laughing woke our niece one night. The patio is great for sunset, but sound carries up if windows are open. Weekend nights get loud too — cars park across the street and teenagers race and yell, audible even with windows closed.There are 3 bedrooms, two large with ensuites, though mattresses are soft and not very supportive. The third bedroom (twin plus a slightly larger bed) is tight on space with springy mattresses . The two guests had to keep luggage in the living area.One shower is small with a low showerhead; another's showerhead is also low for a 6-foot person. Glass block near one bedroom lets light into the hallway/half bath, worth noting if light-sensitive. The door alarm chimes on every door open, right by the bedrooms. One letdown: a septic smell in the kitchen and fruit flies we dealt with for a few days. Otherwise the house was well stocked."

"It is rare that photos on VRBO don't subtly distort the size and attractiveness of rooms and outdoor spaces; this property was definitely an exception! If anything, the home and its amenities were even better than advertised. My family of 9 (4 adults and 3 children under 8), had a ball! The capacious pool with its two slides and comfortable, well-shaded poolside seating made mustering the group for San Diego outings like the zoo challenging! We typically hustled back to the house by late afternoon, so we could resume poolside play. The home was clean and well equipped, especially with beach chairs, toys and even a little wagon. April, the host, was quick to respond to questions, and handled a relatively minor problem (blown fuse), promptly. No one wanted to leave and we hope to return in the not too distant future."

"Loved our stay here. The location could not be more perfect with easy walking access to the lovely beach, restaurants, and pretty neighborhood. The area is very nice, safe, and perfect for walks. The owner is a total sweetheart and was close by and very helpful when needed but otherwise gave us our privacy. The kitchen is well stocked, the back patio is shaded and a nice place for coffee or meals. We brought our 2 young grandchildren with us for part of our 9 day stay and they slept on the pull-out sofa bed. There are plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, 2 surf boards and lots of beach toys to make sand castles. We brought a domed pop-up to provide extra shade but a standard beach umbrella is provided."
