We stayed at the Condo during our first trip east from Alberta. Originally from Scotland we were excited to visit PEI and North Rustico. The Condo was excellent and the location was amazing. The directions were clear and we very much enjoyed our stay. Nice rotation on the second morning to take in the ocean view. Will certainly be back for another visit. Thanks Ali and Mel.

Beautiful place with nice amenities, but never got to experience the rotation of the house
The unit was beautifully decorated with nice amenities. However, for all the work to make the unit nice there are some small things that could have been fixed to make it perfect like hanging the pictures straight and putting a battery in the oversized clock. There was a lot of thudding and noises from the home upstairs. The house only rotates once or twice a day and I don't think it rotates for very long. We never witnessed it rotating. Woke up one morning around 7 am to find it had rotated about 1/4 way around. Returned in the early evening around 3:30 and it had already rotated so our unit faced the water and we woke up in the same position. The big draw to staying there instead of in town, was to experience the house rotating; which unfortunately we didn't get to witness. I love new and different experiences so I was very excited to stay there, unfortunately, I did not feel like I got what was advertised. We did not contact the owners because the messages and instructions from them stressed a no contact experience and to only contact for emergencies.
Stayed 2 nights - short walk to beach and restaurants. Enjoyed stay and tour of thw mechanics of how the building rotates, very clean condo - will try and stay again on our next visit to PEI
As always, Steve’s condos are the perfect getaway. Has everything that you could possibly need, with a beautiful view of the ocean. We even had a chance to use the sauna this time!! Amazing
Our family of five enjoyed our time on PEI, which was primarily centered around Anne Shirley lore and natural beauty. Both were readily accessible and in abundant supply. The condo was clean, well stocked, and fun! The rotation added a new element for the kids (and adults) to wonder at. Thanks for providing a unique experience for our family’s first time on the island!
The rotating house is quite the novelty! When we faced the ocean, the views were lovely and we enjoyed hearing the roaring of the ocean and feeling the breezes. There were some issues with the mechanism so we didn't get the full rotation, but they were working on the issue as we left.
My girls and I came up to PEI to visit family in April, knowing the weather wouldn't be great. It was important for us that were were close to Oyster Bed, Harrington and Charlottetown. We had a great time despite the cold and rain. Steve had the Sauna running for us and it was amazing to warm up in it and look out at the ocean! The condos are beautifully done! They exceeded my expectations!! And the rotating house was fun! We will definitely stay there again!!
Everything was wonderful at this house. North Rustico is beautiful with lots of places to eat. There was only one thing I would have liked at the house - a clothes dryer. There's a washer and clothes drying racks but no dryer. It took 2 days to dry our clothes. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Outstanding PEI Accomodation
"Around the Sea" is outstanding accomodation for a visit of any length. While unique as the circular property rotates the suites are well laid out, fully furnished and tastefully done. The bed is very comfortable with excellent bedding and the bathroom is large, first class and outfitted with quality materials. The owners are always available to respond to questions. If staying for a length of time you need to consider off-site laundry as the suite does not have a washer/dryer. The residence is close to good restaurants, coop grocery store, gas station and anything else you would need. A first class accomodation and if back in this area of PEI it would be our first place to stay.
From the time of our arrival to our departure my family and I felt very well taken care of by our host Steve. Our stay was during hurricane Fiona and Steve went out of his way to describe the safety of the house, letting us know it is technically a Hurricane Home- that gave us piece of mind and was much appreciated. I can now confidently say the home is Hurricane proof and staying during that time was the experience of a lifetime.
The house is gorgeous, the views are stunning! The rotation of the house was very exciting for the kids and it just so cool to have the view from your patio doors change throughout the day.
Steve thank you very much for your much appreciated hospitality and we will be back again!!
Our stay at the first Canadian rotating house in North Rustico was fantastic and wonderful to hear a story about how Steve decided to built the rotating house. As it is described, we could see the Ocean from our home away from home (house only rotating during day time and you are on the Oceanside every other night. My husband even took a picture of the sunset from the backyard, which was beautiful! Not to mention the Atlantic beach is within 10 minutes walking distance, we went down a couple of times playing catch ball or baseball.
We rented bikes from a shop next to the North Rustico harbor that bike to Cavendish beach on a bike path along the Ocean. If you are with children, I recommend clam digging that Steve and the local market owner told us, Google South Rustico Lions club or the farmers bank museum, you will see the Bay down the street from the farmers bank museum. Most touristic places are near or 30 minutes distances except Basin Head Provincial Park(1 hour 30 minutes from the house) but you must try when you have older kids(my son is 9 years and he enjoyed jumping off from the Wharf to the river and swimming to the Ocean. Waves at the Basin beach are the best and safe because of a long stretch of sand bar.
The house has everything you need for cooking, lawn chairs, beach towels, even sand toys to borrow. There is a grocery store, Dorion fish market in a 2 minutes drive. Mussels from the fish market was really good and bigger than other restaurants. Overall, it was truly home away from home in PEI.
Stayed at Around the Sea for a week and had an incredible experience. The property is immaculate, the area is beautiful, and the hosts are very friendly. I hope to make this my go to place to stay every time I visit PEI. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Check in was flawless, property incredible, beach a hop and a skip away, lovely restaurants nearby, an awesome get-away, back to the condo for evening drinks on the deck..oh my...
We went for a ladies staycation and had a great time. Great location and close to Cavendish as well. Modern decor, a 15 minute walk to a beautiful beach. NO mosquitoes :). And you can feel and see it rotate. Ate at the Blue Mussel restaurant, very close and was very good. 4 condos/units on bottom, lots of space on deck.
Our family really enjoyed our staycation in the rotating condo! I thought the novelty of the rotating aspect would be short-lived, but it held the interest of our young daughter (and ourselves!) during our entire 2-night stay. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach for both the gorgeous views and the 20-minute walking loop from the condo down to the beach and back. The kitchen had everything we needed, although a few extra dish cloths, towels, and maybe some paper towels would have been useful to bring along as we like to spend a lot of time cooking! We also really enjoyed the tour of the basement and learn about how the rotating mechanism worked. Thanks for the great stay!
The property and location was lovely. Steve, the host was kind and very accommodating. It was very relaxing and a beautiful view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back at some point.
Beautiful accommodations with very modern feel to it. The fact that it rotates makes it very unique and it gives you the 360 degree view of the property and surroundings!

Nice units, but not at all private
We feel the unit was very nice in and of itself, but there were a few things that we feel could be improved upon. The shower, while beautiful and clean was clearly not designed with shorter people in mind. The shelves were too high to be of any use. There was only one light working above the island, the clock was without a battery (not a really big issue, but it is a really big clock). Because of the design of the building, guests were to get to and from their units by walking on the grass, so as not to disturb other guests., and not on the deck itself. Because of this, the grass should be kept short, to avoid wet feet by walking to and from the parking area. If you are looking for a nice, private getaway, this isn’t really the place to go. As the house turns, the surrounding are stunning when viewing the ocean side, otherwise you have the view of a subdivision.
Our stay with Steve at his rotating condo overlooking the water was awesome. Steve gave us some great suggestions on things to see and do in the area.
The condo was very clean, comfortable and well appointed!
