"I was in Calgary for 6 weeks and stayed at three different hotels. All were similar in price and Emerald Hotel and Suites was by far the best in relation to the other options. Hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful, provided extra coffee or items, etc., as requested, The hotel is older but has had some updates so definitely better than other budget options that hadn’t had any upgrades. Do note, they only clean your room when requested, which I appreciated, and when requested they did a great job. It’s in a good location and if using public transit it’s either a 10-15 min walk to the train station, or one short bus and the stop is right across the street. Would definitely stay again if looking for an affordable option, safe, and comfortable."

"Nice hotel for the price. I particularly enjoyed having a kitchenette in the room. Location was excellent as I needed to transfer to the airport. Lots of parking and conveniently located. Not a lot of amenities nearby though. The hotel was clean but a little run down. Mostly just needs a facelift. The little pantry they have was poorly stocked and not a great deal of selection. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was okay and luckily they had a gluten free cereal that I had to ask for."

"i booked this hotel for my mom and her senior travelling partner because i know the Sandman has a great reputation for service and quality. they were both overjoyed with the ease of check-in, quality and cleanliness of the property and the room, staff service (they both gave rave reviews of the attached Moxies and the food and service there) and the efficiency of the airport shuttle. thank you for taking care of them!"

"Stayed here for the convenience of getting to the airport for a stupidly early flight, which they provided a free shuttle for. Hotel felt new, clean, very comfortable. Getting to the city is a 20 minute drive which isn't too expensive by Uber. I didn't use the pool but it looked like a good, clean space. Gym was well maintained and had decent kit. Food was ok, I was disappointed to find I couldn't get lunch/room service when I wanted it so ordered from Uber Eats which was fine. I'd stay here again for a short stopover and the convenience of the airport."
