I am writing to formally express my serious disappointment with the condition of the cottage during my recent stay from [dates of stay]. The experience was far below the standards expected, especially given the high price and the assurances from the booking platform.
• No air conditioning, making the cottage extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the door was left open when we arrived, compromising security and comfort.
• No drinkable water available, which is simply unacceptable for any paid accommodation.
• The barbecue was completely non-functional, ruining our plans for outdoor meals.
• The backyard and surrounding area were poorly maintained and neglected.
• The bed was uncomfortable, and we were bothered by bugs, making restful sleep impossible.
• Kitchen utilities were in poor condition, the dishwasher was broken, and coffee cups were dirty, which is unhygienic and disappointing.
This level of neglect and lack of basic amenities is unacceptable and does not justify the cost paid. I trusted the listing and platform to provide at least a basic standard of comfort and cleanliness, which was clearly not met.
Given these issues, I insist on a partial refund to compensate for the significant inconvenience and discomfort experienced during our stay.
