"I wouldn't normally visit a zoo (been there, done that). But staying at Taronga was an opportunity to do something different, and for a good cause too. The staff and volunteers were wonderful, and the buffet breakfast was great too. Tip: Best views (koalas) are from rooms in buildings 1, 2 and 3. Buildings 4 and 5 have the kangaroos outside, but they seem to 'hide' most of the day. Shops and restaurants on Military Road are an easy 30-45 minute walk away (or take the frequent buses). Balmoral Beach is about an hour's walk away and great for swimming."

"Staff were excellent, super helpful and quick service. Rooms were showing their age and the free coffee was a nice touch but really needed to offer the choice (milk) to meet customer selections. Otherwise great location and vibe. "
