The Onyx Apartment Hotel by NEWMARK

The Onyx Apartment Hotel by NEWMARK

10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely loved my stay. I was there for a conference at the convention center and it was a very quick walk across the street. I fell and unfortunately broke my arm on day one, but that wasn't the hotel's fault, just my clumsiness. Amazing (and inexpensive by US standards) medical care was just a few blocks away, as well as a pharmacy and grocery store. The room was more than I hoped for. Everything needed for cooking or warming food was there, with a large fridge. The living room area was nice to watch tv and the bed was so comfortable with plenty of nice pillows. The a/c worked amazingly well and kept me cool. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the Granite bar area for appetizers and a sundowner. The pool area was nice, but it was a bit cold for me, mainly due to outside temps being in the 60s. There are no steps in and out of the pool though. Getting in was east, as it was just over waist deep for me, but getting out was harder since I couldn't use one arm to hoist myself out. Overall I would definitely stay here again."

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"The staff was one of the most outstanding things about this property. Sometimes you go to places that are nice but the staff does not understand customer service. But this staff did especially the dinning room staff. Great job"

Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport

Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport

10/10 Excellent
"A very good airport hotel which is about 30mins taxi from the center of Cape Town. The buffet breakfast offers a good range of hot and cold items. No noise from the airport could be heard in our bedroom. The hotel provides an airport shuttle service."

ONOMO Hotel Cape Town - Inn on the Square

ONOMO Hotel Cape Town - Inn on the Square

8/10 Good
"Super nice staff everywhere in the hotel. I found 2 issues that could be better. First the bed had no top sheet only a duvet, so when it was too hot there was nothing to cover up with. Easy to fix. Next was the noise from the square, as an older building the windows did little to block the noise of vendors setting up and tearing down, and the drumming went on for 3 hours at midnight. Not a restful night needs improvement."

Pepperclub Hotel

Pepperclub Hotel

8/10 Good
"I'll start with the positives: - The temperature and shower pressure in the bathroom were amazing! - The views from our room on the 15th floor were stunning. We had a 270degree view of the mountains, plus a balcony. The downside about the balcony was that the hotel would not provide patio furniture, and staff suggested that we move the side chairs from the living room in and out of the room to use on the balcony... - Most of the staff were incredibly friendly! Sandy in housekeeping, Gerald at the concierge desk, and Z in the Copa restaurant stand out! - The location on Loop streeet, close to Long Street, and a couple of blocks from Bo Kaap was awesome. Everything else was a quick/affordable Uber ride away. Cons: - The layout of the one-bedroom suites was a bit awkward. The bedroom was small with minimal walking space on either side of the bed. The closet was also small and awkwardly placed. There was no dining furniture, though there was space for it and the pictures of the room showed a dining table in the suite. The bathroom vanity lacked functional counter space. I really wanted to use the club, but it didn't seem super clean. - Breakfast was very monotonous (same thing every day), and there were not a lot of options other than fruit if you don't eat meat/pork/dairy/eggs. We spent a week and got bored with the food options quickly. There were certain dishes that were quite good and served as consistent fallbacks (smoothies, pancakes, cheese boards)."
