Great place to stay in Noumea!

Nice, comfortable room, friendly front desk staff. Great location by the water and by shopping/dining options. I loved the complimentary cookies! Only suggestion — luggage storage should be in a different area (it is currently behind the fish tank, which smells).

Hôtel Le Lagoon is located in a very convenient position close to shops, restaurants and the beach. It is clean and well presented. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only issue we had was that the ´buffet breakfast’ we had paid for in our package was somewhat disappointing. Having stayed in various hotels in noumea ´buffet breakfast’ always includes a variety of hot options. It would be better that Hotel Lagoon offers similar or perhaps provide a more transparent description of their breakfast so that people are aware. Other than that it is a lovely hotel and staff are wonderful.

Hotel Le Lagon's spaces were smaller (for family of 4), but functional and had a much nicer feel than some of the nearby bigger hotels. Rooms were well appointed, the kitchenette was especially useful, and the pool area was compact but well laid out. Staff were helpful and language wasnt a problem. Great location, quiet, but convenience stores and food options right nearby.

The first room we stayed in was very dirty and had a dead cockroach and was noisy. So we asked to change. The second room was a little better, but still, I believe that the entire hotel is a little old and so everything gets moldy no matter how much they clean it. The outdoor area is nice, with a sauna, pool, jacuzzi, etc. The staff are friendly. Good location, close of restaurants/groceries and the beach. We didn't eat at the hotel and there is no room service. The rooms need cleaning/rebuilding, for example the corners of the bathroom, all black from not cleaning and mold. The air conditioning units hadn't been serviced for years, everything was black and dirty. The bed was comfortable, the pillows not so much, the sheets and towels clean and comfortable.

Beds are too soft. There was roadwork upgrade right outside the hotel during our stay, unfortunately! It was dusty and noisy too. Staffs were friendly and very helpful!

Le Lagon is an excellent value hotel. Our room had water views. Gym facilities are bit dated but useable. Pool is a bit small but heated so nice to relax after a long day. Spa and Sauna were great. Restaurant only open for breakfast but there are lots kf options nearby. Hotel has bicycle to hire but I found price is a bit high for half day or full day and bikes need to be returned by 6pm.

Unfortunately our stay at this hotel was during the New Caledonia civil riots. In the circumstances, the management and staff did their very best to keep us safe and provided what little food was available for the breakfasts, which were paid in advance. The room, 1 bedroom suite, was comfortable although the decor was tired. Some refurbishment is overdue.

The only negative for us was the fact that the street in front of the hotel was completely torn up and under construction making it too noisy to enjoy the balcony and difficult to access in our rental car. The neibourhood is very nice with an excellent choice of restaurants a short walk away, and a lovely beach promenade - unfortunately the beach walkway and the adjacent road were also construction zones with many parts blocks off!
