It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. This is a wonderful boutique hotel full of yesteryear charm from the beautiful colonial building with its antique furniture to the spacious landscaped gardens and the pristine cold water pool. Some distance from Kandy itself but easy enough to access there and all the tourist spots by tuk tuk with Lieyru the manger only to happy to assist with this.

Amazing building and grounds in the perfect place, just out of Kandy. Swimming pool was very welcome. Staff showed great attention to making us happy. We were very impressed with the meals that were served. Loved our stay.

Beautiful hotel, great service would reccomend

Truly gorgeous boutique hotel reminiscent of bygone years- friendly staff & good service. Only downside- far from kandy (about 30 mins by car/ tuk tuk & evening buffet not great- breakfast was good though! Would recommend for the experience

Very different experience

We only stayed for a night. The breakfast in the garden was a unique experience. In the garden there are many kind of fruit trees such as nutmegs, avocado, mangosteen and olives. For cat lovers there are two grey cats playing around. Squirrel, chipmunk and many birds were seen! Nice food and great staff!
