Gather your crew together for some well-deserved shore leave at Admiral’s Quarters! This classic oceanfront beach cottage sits along the dune line of Oak Island’s west beach and offers you a nostalgic harbor from the chaos of everyday life.

The cozy living room provides plenty of seating across three armchairs, two couches and a love seat. Watch a favorite movie together on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV thanks to cable service and a Blu-ray player or watch the colors of the sunset reflect on the waves as it sinks below the endless horizon just out your window. The long wooden dining table seats eight for mealtimes, with an additional six barstools provided at the adjacent breakfast counter. The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook during your stay including a glass top stove newly installed in 2025.

Tucked away beside the kitchen is a master bedroom with a king bed, ocean views and an attached private bath with a standard tub/shower combo. Down the hall from the living room, the second full bathroom offers a step-in shower stall and shared hall access for the final two bedrooms. One bedroom offers a queen bed and a twin, while the other has a queen and a double.

Downstairs, the enclosed garage creates a welcome bonus space for kids to run off energy should your stay include a rainy day. You’ll find the charcoal grill stored here until you’re ready for it, along with beach chairs for your use. There is also a laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer. Outside, the enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water allows you to rinse off the sand while enjoying the relaxing ocean breezes before heading upstairs.

The partially covered oceanfront porch is where you’re sure to spend many of your vacation hours. Whether you choose to settle in at the extended wooden picnic table with plenty of space for everyone to dine al fresca or the classic rocking chairs grouped for quiet conversation, time seems to slow as you soak in the sun, lift your face to the breeze and slow your breathing to the rhythm of the waves. And when you can no longer resist the urge to dip your toes in the water, you’ll find beach access is easy and quick thanks to a dedicated sand path. Nice house, good location. Only a couple suggested improvements-upgrade a few of the kitchen utensils (there was no can opener or vegetable peeler), spray more heavily for ants on the deck, and improve the shower curtain in the “shared” bathroom. Great stay, thank you so much!
