Summer Girls Getaway

It was a great place to stay. Plenty of room to spread out and a quick walk to the beach with beautiful views of both the ocean and intercoastal. We will definitely be back!

Beach week with family

Beach Bliss

Oak Island is a fantastic family destination. Dave’s house is fantastic and great location. We had a wonderful time exploring Bald Head Island, hitting the restaurants and mostly just enjoying the beach.

My husband and I went on a little vacation before we are a family of 3 with a group of friends. The house was amazing and looked exactly like the pictures. It was nice and clean and we really enjoyed all the outdoor seating! Definitely will book again

Nice house with great views!

My family and I enjoyed this house and the views of the ocean and Davis Canal. House was clean and felt like home, would definitely stay here again! Great communication with the owner as well.

Fabulous place!

We had a great time here for Easter weekend. The house was spotless, with plenty of living space for us all to spread out and for the kids to play. It’s a short walk to the beach access, but the wagon there made it easy to get all the kids there with minimal whining. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics and there were plenty of towels and extra blankets!

Wonderful beach stay!

A beautiful house in a more relaxed area of OKI! We love coming to Oak Island and were so happy to find this gem on a quieter part of the island The house was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and has great views of both the marsh and ocean! We spent time relaxing on the decks, and it was a short walk to the beach. Dave was responsive and quick to any questions. They were super thoughtful with extra amenities. The wagon was especially helpful when we were taking things to the beach. They have a great selection of games and there is a lot of space for people to hang out. Thanks for providing us a great house for my family to enjoy our vacation! We hope to come again for our next one!

Vay-K before new gig

My wife, 4 kids and I stayed at David’s place in Oak Island. It was PERFECT. We wanted to be close to the beach, the walk was short and easily manageable. If we needed anything it was really easy to make a quick trip and be back in the sun. The house was very clean and comfortable. David was VERY responsive. Would definitely recommend and want to come back!

Oak Island Magic

Excellent property location and amenities! Beautiful, spacious and comfortable home close to the beach. Lots of beach equipment supplied for guests. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and dining in. Gorgeous views from front and rear decks. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Excellent communication with owner. Beach is being replenished so I recommend surf shoes for swim time. Lovely walks on the beach for delightful ocean breezes and shell collecting. Great restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. I highly recommend this property!

Beauty at the Beach

When our long-awaited beach vacation was threatened by Tropical Storm Debby, we were grateful that the owner allowed us to shift our arrival date by one day so that the worst of the storm could pass. We were delighted to discover that the house was as lovely as it appeared in the photos. The house is well decorated and had everything we needed to make our vacation comfortable. Since we were traveling with a four-year-old and an infant, the easy access to the beach and the availability of a wagon were greatly appreciated. The view of the canal from the back decks was stunning. My son set up his scope to watch birds every day. We like being on the quiet side of Oak Island. The house itself was very quiet - when we were downstairs, we could not hear people talking on the second floor. We would definitely reserve this house if we return to Oak Island. The house is well suited for a multi-generation family trip.

Family Vacation OKI

The Mayers home is absolutely gorgeous and it feels like home. They thought of every thing and supplied it all. We especially enjoyed the family room upstairs. We love to play games and with seven of us we needed the room to spread out. ;) The dining room table fit all of us for our breakfast. We did get to eat breakfast outside one morning when it wasn't raining. The view was spectacular. Dave was always quick to answer any questions I had. His recommendations were on point as well. Our family loves to ride bikes and paddle. The Mayers had it all. Unfortunately, we did not get to paddle, but , next time. Thanks again for sharing your home with our family.

Most restful week ever!

This was our first visit to Oak Island and it did not disappoint! Quiet, beautiful, while providing just enough to do for teens that were with us! The house was so spacious with plenty of anything you might need! The beach chairs, bikes, and umbrellas were a huge bonus and saved us car space! The deck off the kitchen overlooking the marsh is where we spent a ton of time. The sunsets as we sat there eating dinner were spectacular! Definitely a week to remember and can’t wait to visit again! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

Great location, spacious home with fantastic views

Our family of 4 adults/2 grandkids had a great time at the Mayer home. Kids loved the twin bedroom - especially the wall murals and stuffed crab, octopus and turtle. Home met our needs for comfort and space. Wish list - a hammock on the rear deck overlooking the marsh - the breeze there was fantastic with beautiful sunsets/sunrises. Kids liked playing the ring toss game. Access was easy with key code and checkout very simple. Appreciated use of beach wagon, chairs, bikes and boogie boards and short walk to beach. Location is in a quiet neighborhood with close proximity to beach and The Point. Dave responds quickly to any questions. We would rent this property again.

For many in my group, this was our first time in OKI. This house and Dave made our trip easy and memorable! There were so many things at the house to help us enjoy it and the beach. We loved hanging out on the multiple decks and the giant sectional was the perfect gathering spot our late night conversations.

Wonderful Oak Island home, fantastic host

This is a perfect 3 bedroom, centrally located Oak Island beach home. It is well stocked with beach essentials, and the best feature is the view of Davis Canal/marsh from the back deck. Clean, organized, and the host is a great communicator. Would highly recommend this home on Oak Island!

Loved watching the tide go in and out of the creek and marsh. And only a short walk away from the beach! House was great, kitchen and downstairs beach storage well stick for perfect Oak Island vacation!

Great stay on Oak Island

Great property on the quiet, west end of the island. Very convenient to beach-- a few minutes walk -- and to the marsh/canal -- a brief walk to the public access at the end of the road-- to kayak or fish or explore. Spacious property, and very clean - just as advertised. Would stay here again.

Great Family Getaway

Great house, well equipped. Perfect for family gatherings. Beautiful views of the marsh made for wonderful sunrise yoga. Made crepe bar in the kitchen and everyone got to make their own. perfect for family game night and great for grilling. Morning/Evening drinks on the porches are a MUST!

Terrific House and Terrific Location

We stayed here in July 2022. The property owner was very responsive, polite and quick to answer various questions that we had. The house is excellent. Very clean, bright and newly renovated with a fantastic view of the Sound. It is also a very short walk to the beach. It is further west on Oak Island, and therefore a little less crowded, but still a very short drive for groceries, etc. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking your own meals, and also has a very nice gas grill on the upper porch. There is also a very nice 'sand room' on the bottom floor that allows you to stow beach gear at the end of every day. The house also has a very sophisticated sound system and TVs that allow you to access various subscription channels. I highly recommend this property!
