Dock on Canal, Close to Beach and Dog Friendly with a fenced in backyard!

Adorable waterfront cottage with a private dock on the Davis Canal located 2 short blocks to the beach. Kick up your feet and relax with your family and furry friend. This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is conveniently located near the Middleton Avenue bridge so it makes getting to the beach a breeze. It has a large back yard that leads to its own dock where you can fish or launch a small boat, kayak, or paddleboard to explore the beautiful, serene and wildlife-filled waterway. We have been told it’s one of the best spots for fishing on the canal! If lounging on the beach or playing in the ocean is your desire, take a quick 5 minute walk across the bridge and you are there. There is a private hot water shower to wash off the sand when you return.

The kitchen was recently updated and is fully stocked. The master bedroom features a king bed, TV, closet and an en-suite full bathroom. The middle bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and 2 closets. The bunk room has two bunk beds and a large closet full of games and toys. There is also a pack and play, a toddler bed and a small cot in the closets if needed. Additionally, the sun room has a pull out couch with a full-sized bed. All beds have comforters and fully enclosed, zippered mattress pads and pillows with covers. Linens and Towels are NOT INCLUDED.

The cottage has central HVAC and full-sized washer and dryer. Amenities include smart TVs with local channels and Netflix as well as DVD players and dual band WiFi. There is a charcoal grill and a wagon to haul your beach stuff.

Dogs allowed, please select "Pets" when booking!

Linens and towels are NOT provided. Please bring your own or contact one of the several delivery services on the island. This is done in an effort to keep our costs low!

You will not be disappointed with this rental and will want to keep coming back every year!

Great Week on Oak Island

The Dock House was perfect for our family. Our boys enjoyed fishing off the dock (caught spot and croaker), coffee on the porch was very relaxing each morning, and the house felt spacious even with 3 adults and 2 kids. A great week of beach and kayaking!

The Dock House was perfect for our family of nine adults. The dock was great for gathering, and launching kayaks. The house was close enough to walk easily to the beach every day. The owners were very responsive to our needs. It was a perfect week and we’d love to come back to The Dock House!

This was such a wonderful house, the host thought of everything. The house was spacious for our large family to visit and the kids had room to spread out. My son never left the dock and made friends with the neighbor boys so they all fished together. The house was close enough to the beach that we got to walk with the puppy early in the morning. Loved the large fenced in back yard to sit out on the patio while the puppy ran around and chased her ball.

Very nice place!

The house is very well stocked with dinnerware, pots and pans. The owners are very quick to answer any questions. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Sitting on the dock at sunset was beautiful and peaceful.. Will be back with our boat..

Best little spot on the island!

This was our second stay here and Vinnie and Megan didn’t disappoint. The property was very clean and well kept. They answered emails immediately. We couldn’t ask for better hosts and with the location we will always rent this place from them. The kids absolutely love it and the older ones too! Thanks again Vinnie and Megan! Y’all are the best!

Dock House

The owner of this property responded very quickly to any concerns we had. When we arrived it appeared the cleaning person had not come to the house after the lasts guests left. The owner quickly refunded our cleaning fee & offered to have the cleaning person come out the next morning. The deck was a nice place to sit & read. The yard was great for our dogs. The house was spacious & well supplied.

Great space for a girls trip!! Location, amenities, and house was wonderful. However, there were a few things we didn’t love 1. When we arrived the hot tub was green and unusable. The pool guy came the next day (normally scheduled visit) and said he may need to drain it (it was that bad!). Instead he loaded it full of chemicals and it smelt so strongly of chemicals we didn’t think it was safe to get in. Plus it was still green with visible oils floating on top. By the day we checked out, the water was clear but unfortunately we never got to use it. 2. One of the rooms’ mattress was very uncomfortable (like an under-inflated air mattress). That guest ended up sleeping on the couch. The other rooms were very good.That said, I would stay here again so I hope I don’t sound too negative. We had a great time and our trip was very enjoyable.

Not for larger groups

The exterior is so so, broken lattice, and a drain pipe. It's not really a huge deal for our group, but it's something you should know if it's important to you. The backyard is big and would've been nice, but after the 3rd day, the grass was so high and full of biting flies and mosquitoes that we couldn't use it. The grass was never mowed the entire time we were there. Tiny charcoal grill. The dock was very weathered, and two in our group ripped their shorts on the many nails popping out. Kayaking from the dock was okay, but there were not many nearby sights. Patio furniture was good, but the umbrella was full of wasps and mud dauber nests.The interior is outdated, again, not a massive deal for our group. Nice master bedroom and bath. One of the bedrooms had bunk beds with very little space between the bunks, making rolling over or getting out of bed challenging, so I wouldn't recommend that adults sleep there. The kitchen was a hodgepodge mix of things, that other visitor left I'm assuming. Be prepared to bring everything. This would've been ok for smaller groups; for 8 adults and an infant, it was way too small. Getting to the beach is somewhat close, but you'll need a golf cart or pull buggy if you have any coolers or beach chairs. The beach itself is lovely and not overly crowded. There is almost nothing to do in the area regarding nightlife or shops. Expect to drive well over 30 minutes to do anything. Very limited shops and local restaurants.

Home Away from Home

This home was more than we could have asked for. It was so comfortable, roomy, the air conditioning was incredible. The beds were comfortable. The yard was perfect for our pup and our kiddos. Our kids had fun for hours on the dock, fishing and crabbing! stores and restaurants minutes away. Super short walk/ride to the beach. Can’t say enough!

Perfect place and location for a family stay

We were pleased to find the place exactly as we expected and even better! We knew from the listing that Vinny and Megan had gone to great lengths to make this place like home away from home. But so many toys and games for the kids, a small library for adults…and the most well stocked kitchen of any place we ever rented! We had a couple of minor issues upon check in and Vinny was so quick to respond, even coming out Sunday morning to take care of things. We loved this place for our family vacation and will definitely be the go to in the future. Thanks Vinny and Megan!

Felt like home!

First off i want to say this was our best vacation yet. The location was perfect in the fact that it was close to the beach ,but not right on the beach. We had our own dock to fish from on the canal, we caught croaker ,pinfish, red drum ,flounder, and several nice black drum! The house was clean and well maintained. We were within walking distance to the beach and a all you need little store across the bridge. Lowes food is but a short drive up the road. We hated to leave!

Great layout, yard, location for our family w baby and fur baby!

Great location- easy walk to beach but we also rented a golf cart to haul all our beach gear/baby stuff to and fro. Great house- layout and fenced yard worked well for 5 adults and baby and dog. Tons of kid toys, books, kitchen items. Lots of room to spread out, covered outdoor space to keep sandy items out of the house but also out of the weather! Dock provided a peaceful place to read or just enjoy the view, also easy for us to use for kayaking. Kitchen was well stocked including some staples like spices, plastic bags, foil, etc. Beds were comfortable. Only complaints: pillows were not comfortable and couldn't find any beach chairs (which were listed as amenities) and honestly I didn't even message the owners to ask bc we made due w the ones we brought. Overall a tiny complaint in an otherwise lovely beach vacation stay! Communication w hosts was courteous and prompt! Would stay here again!

Wonderful Home Away from Home

Our family loved this beach home! Home away from home! Realaxing, quiet, clean and roomy! Short distance to beach. Normally we stay ocean front in North Myrtle so this was different. But we enjoyed it! Son brought his kayak and fished from the dock and also on the canal from his kayak. Fenced in back yard was a plus and the dock views amazing! Loved everything and the owners are very nice and helpful! We will be back!

Awesome Vacation

Our family loved this place! Maybe our best vacation ever! There was lots of room . Our older dog did not have steps to climb. She enjoyed staying on the deck. The younger one spent her time playing in the fenced yard. Our daughter napped In the rope chair swing. She has ordered one for herself. We got to fish off the dock and put the kayaks in there. Short walk to the beach. Comfortable beds. We were so sad to leave. We will be back!!

Best Beach Week!

Loved the location of this home. We rented a golf cart for the week. Getting to the beach was super quick and easy. Loved the dock on the canal, especially for sunsets. We cooked all our meals at the house and I do mean ALL. We didn't eat out once during our stay. Everything was so convenient. We absolutely loved it!

Nice location that well suited our needs

The property was quite nice and suited out needs. There was new deck, out shower, and fenced yard. Our dog was able to enjoy his time at the beach too. The extra spray hose was useful to remove sand from beach equipment and dog. The golf cart drive to the beach was easy and the cart only parking at the beach access was appreciated. We had a great time fishing and Kayaking off the dock. Low tide is challenging to access the floating dock but worth it. The kitchen was well stocked for those that cook. The water tasted wonderful ... super appreciation for the water filter system!

Love This House

The place is more than perfect. Very clean and has absolutely everything you could possibly need. My pugs loved the backyard and there were lots of tennis balls thrown in that yard during the week. The owners were great with communication leading up to the rental. Didn't really need anything while we were there, but am positive they would have been responsive if we did. We don't have kids but if you do, DEFINITELY kid friendly. The neighbor is the absolute sweetest man with good restaurant recommendations. Will rent here again.

The Dock House exceeded expectations! If you are looking for a family friendly home base to explore Oak Island please check out the Dock House! Plenty of room to spread out, fenced in yard, crabbing from the dock and a well equipped kitchen . The hosts are very responsive to questions and the neighbors are very friendly! I would recommend this rental property to friends and family without hesitation!

Great house with a great fenced in back yard

First of all, what a great place! House was clean and welcoming. Secondly, the fenced in yard was an absolute blessing!! The dogs loved it. Highly recommend this place especially if you have dogs, they have the freedom to fun wild!
